TheWrap’s Party Report will be updating throughout the weekend. Hollywood stars and NFL icons unite this weekend at the countless parties and A-list events leading up to Super Bowl Li in Houston, Texas. Love him or hate him, the NFL’s biggest superstar Tom Brady was preparing to take to the field Sunday at Nrg Stadium to face off against Matty “Ice” Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons’ threatening offense. But while the Patriots and Falcons are tied up practicing, going over game tape and answering inane questions from the media, the rest of the football and entertainment worlds are...

It's rare that you stay with your high school or college sweetheart, but that's a hard truth Gilmore Girls fans have had trouble accepting – especially with Monday night's news that there may be a Netflix reboot in the works.
So instead of asking each cast member who they'd want Rory (Alexis Bledel) to be with now, People polled the show's stars on who was the most fun to watch on screen opposite Stars Hollow's pride and joy: loyal first boyfriend Dean (Jared Padalecki), soulful rebel Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) or reformed playboy Logan (Matt Czuchry).

The first season of Necessary Roughness ended with a literal bang as Tk was shot, and the 2nd season has shown the long road for recovery for Tk as he has battled substance abuse as a result of that injury. For someone dependent on his physical prowess and the perception of his physical superiority, Tk has had a difficult time regaining his self-esteem and self-confidence while recovering emotionally, physically and mentally. For actor Mehcad Brooks, this roller-coaster ride of Tk’s recovery has been a phenomenal gift and he has embraced it whole-heartedly. In a recent press conference call, Mehcad shared some insights about where Tk’s journey will take him through the remainder of the 2nd season, as well as Tk’s relationships to those closest him.

Today brings ten more movies to look forward to and I must say, as I was writing up my thoughts on each I got more and more excited for a couple of these particularly the closer I got to #31. Yesterday's list was just a primer for what is to come. It had some worthy titles to look forward to, but overall it was quite obvious things were only going to get better. Today they do as I offer up films from the likes of Wong Kar Wai, Paul Greengrass, Alexander Payne, Jim Jarmusch, Scott Cooper and Neill Blomkamp. If you aren't excited about the films of 2013 yet, this list of ten should start to get that motor running= and we are still thirty films away from #1. I have, however, included a navigation to browse all five lists directly below as well as at the end of this post for easy navigation.

Trespassers Will Be Eaten
Perhaps a less eye-grabbing, but still “driving” title for this third Mubi soundtrack mix should be Shifting Gears...as such, it’s a free-falling, propulsive survey of scores focusing on the thriller in all of its manifestations: detective procedurals, bank heists, neo-noirs, spy films, psychodramas, giallos, chases, races, and sci-fi mind-games. Featured also are a few composers better known for their more famous musical projects. Police drummer Stewart Copeland’s metallic, rhythmic score for Rumble Fish, gamely taunts the self-conscious black and white street theatre of Francis Ford Coppola's film. So-called fifth Beatle, producer George Martin’s funky Shaft-influenced Live and Let Die score ushers in a more leisurely 70s-era James Bond, as incarnated by Roger Moore. Epic crooner visionary Scott Walker’s fatally romantic melodies for Leos Carax’s inventively faithful Melville adaptation Pola X is remarkably subdued and lush.

"From the crooked timber of humanity, no straight thing was ever made." —Immanuel Kant.
Even before I knew what a cinephilic sensibility was, mine was being shaped by the evolving filmic projects of William Friedkin and their focus on humanity's crooked timber. As a participatory member of the Gay Movement of the early 70s, I resisted the scriptural representation in Friedkin's The Boys In the Band (1970) and—a decade later—Cruising (1980), but was undeniably swept up in the Catholicized hysteria surrounding The Exorcist (1973), which I managed to catch at its Bible Belt premiere in Little Rock, Arkansas. The French Connection (1971) challenged Peter Yate's earlier Bullitt (1968) with its iconic car chase and Sorcerer (1977) dazzled me with its suspenseful virtuosity and has continued to intrigue me with its court battle over copyright. To Live And Die in L.A. (1985) introduced me to the talent of such actors as William Petersen and Willem DeFoe; but,...

We hold in our hands the covers for DC Comics this February. As a child of four can plainly see, these comics have been hermetically sealed in a Cgc 9.9 slab, and they’ve been kept in a #2 mayonnaise jar under a giant stack of returned copies of Holy Terror since noon today.
What do we have worth noting? The new look of Darkseid, and we’re far enough into the new 52 books that it’s time for Batman to start crossing over in all of them. Plus Mara Jade, the red-haired assassin who fell in love with her blond-haired man she was sent to kill– oh, I’m sorry, that’s from Star Wars. This is Mera in a jade outfit. Our mistake.
Shall we? Surely!
As usual, spoilers may lurk beyond this point.

Three morsels of news featuring a few of my favorite TV actors broke this week. Adrienne Palicki from "Friday Night Lights" is going to be the new Wonder Woman for that rumored-to-be-dreadful David E. Kelly pilot! Kristen Bell somehow snagged a show with Don Cheadle!! And, finally, in the biggest non-news news of the week, the Science Channel will be re-airing "Firefly" in its entirety starting March 6. Fresh on the scene to report on this non-news, "Entertainment Weekly" strong-armed Nathan Fillion (currently snarkily smarming his way into America's hearts on "Castle") into admitting that he would shimmy into those tight pants and play Captain Malcolm Reynolds again.
But you know, I'm not dying for more Mal (blasphemy!!!), because Nathan Fillion will always find work. Ditto when it comes to the tiny Bell and the Amazonian Palicki. They are such stuff as stars are made on. It's the supporting cast from...

So I was flipping through my friend's copy of Entertainment Weekly the other night and I stumbled across this full page ad that got me all hepped up. The feathery, golden locks! The rumpled shirt and jeans! The water fall! They've given Josh Holloway from "Lost" a spin-off show! Set the DVRs! Reconvene the West Coast chapter of The Hot Tailies! Will Nestor Carbonell and his guyliner guest star? Dude, will Hurley be on it?!??! All these thoughts went screaming through my brain pan before The Reasonable Side of My Brain piped up with, "Hang on a tick, poppet. That isn't Josh Holloway, just some slightly neckless chap. Also, love, note the stethoscope. Something's amiss." (The Reasonable Side of My Brain is British. . .obviously.)
So the show, "Off the Map," is a sort of Jungle Fever meets "Grey's Anatomy." (Without the racial tension. Just sex in the jungle, that's what I'm getting at.

A while back, the Weinstein Brothers -- who used to own Miramax -- made a bid to repurchase it from Disney, but ultimately lost out in that bid. However, Miramax has now brought in the Brothers Weinstein into a long-term partnership developed so that the two companies can produce sequels to a few movies for which the Weinsteins were originally responsible. A slate of potential sequels was released that includes Rounders, Clerks III, Bad Santa, Copland, Shall We Dance, The Amityville Horror, From Dusk til Dawn and Swingers. Most shocking: Shakespeare in Love.
But before you get your drawers in a bunch (and I think we've probably moved past the point of being aghast at sequels or reboots to any movie), keep in mind that this is all very preliminary. Check your outrage. There are some very creative people in Hollywood (and by creative, I mean "spiritually bankrupt"), but I can't imagine many,...

How do you know that Owen Wilson had fun researching his role in James L. Brooks's relationship comedy How Do You Know? His rigorous preparation required multiple visits to Texas' top barbecue joints and also included a multiday tour of the Texas Rangers' spring-training facility. Wilson also had the "tough" job of romancing Reese Witherspoon as the third leg of a love triangle that also involves Paul Rudd. We met the laid-back leading man in New York City, where he talked about sweating the details, working with Brooks, and the further adventures of Lightning McQueen. Q: I think we're supposed to dislike Matty because he's the wrong guy in Reese Witherspoon's life. But I loved him. He's sunny, optimistic, and so much fun to be around. Glen highlights the movie podcasts that really do warrant your attention...
Podcasts have saved me from hours of boredom over the years, whether it be during quiet times during my day job or the many tasks and chores that inevitably come with adult life. I find that listening to a podcast makes these moments infinitely more tolerable.

Caroline Williams made her mark in the horror genre very early in her career. Her first notable role came in 1985 with a small part in The Legend of Billie Jean. The very next year Williams took on Leatherface and the whole crazy Sawyer family in Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, which would forever endear her to the horror masses with her portrayal of final girl Venita “Stretch” Brock.
Just a few years later, Williams stepped back into the horror genre as Matty Crimmins in The Stepfather 2 and reprised her role as Stretch for a brief cameo in TCM 3. In 1995 Williams braved the evilest little dude in horror not named Chucky when she appeared in Leprechaun 3 as Loretta, a greedy casino worker who gets more than she bargained for.
