Was involved in the "Canadian Caper", the rescue of six American diplomats who had evaded the seizure of the American Embassy in Tehran. The character Lester Siegel, played by Alan Arkin in Argo (2012), was a fictionalized amalgamation of Sidell and Jack Warner.
