Rise of Empires: Ottoman is a documentary series written and directed by Emre Sahin.

A very interesting combination of techniques in this dramatized documentary series that brings to life the history in a very Game of Thrones fashion. If you haven’t seen it, give it a peek and see the interesting approach they have taken in creating a story so vivid that it captivates, and the producers’ angle of modernizing everything History-conveying – remember the dry history literature in school? This is the polar opposite, giving the subject some much welcome glamour and allure. We have seen new ways of relaying History lately, making it more appealing, a good example would be the doc-series ‘Blood, sex and Royalty‘. ‘Rise of Empires: Ottoman‘ delivers, with a similarly novel approach, a chronicle historical events.

It looks like the iconic 80s cops of Miami Vice will be back, with Vin Diesel’s production company making it happen....

Can you feel it calling in the air tonight? A reboot of Miami Vice is in the works at NBC, according to Variety.

The reboot is being brought to us by Vin Diesel's production company, One Race Television, and Chris Morgan productions. Morgan has penned six of the Fast & Furious movies. Considering the Fast & Furious franchise started with a cop and 2 Fast 2 Furious took place in Miami, it's not a bad fit.

Peter Macmanus, known for writing TV series such as Satisfaction and The Mist, will be writing the script. No executive producers have been announced but Variety muses that "it’s more than likely Macmanus, Morgan, and Diesel will all serve as EPs".

Chicago – “The Hollywood Show” is an exciting gathering of celebrities and memorabilia for movies, TV and pop culture fans. The latest edition will be this weekend – September 9th-11th, 2016 – at the Hilton/O’Hare Airport Hotel in Rosemont, Ill. (details below). Joe Arce of HollywoodChicago.com will be there to photograph the stars, and offers a Slideshow featuring the celebrities who attended the 2015 event.

Scheduled to appear at the 2016 Hollywood Show are Joyce DeWitt (“Three’s Company), Loretta Swit (“M*A*S*H”), Oscar nominated actress Mariel Hemingway, Morgan Fairchild (“Falcon Crest”) and Jan Michael Vincent (“Airwolf”), among many other favorites from “Three’s Company,” “My Three Sons,” and “The Waltons.” There is a fee for autographs and pictures, and the show offers a huge memorabilia market.

Miami Vice premiered on September 16, 1984 with a two-hour season premiere. The episode titled “Brother’s Keeper” garnered critical acclaim, and the series went on to become a symbol of the times. Legend has it that NBC President Brandon Tartikoff started the ball rolling after he scribbled “MTV Cops” on a napkin, and then went looking for someone at NBC to produce the show. However the series was actually the brainchild of scriptwriter-turned-director Michael Mann (coming off the critical success of Manhunter), and Hill Street Blues writer-producer Anthony Yerkovich, who was already drafting the idea based by news stories about the thriving drug trade in Florida. But regardless what Yerkovich brought to the table, the show’s most dominant creative force was Michael Mann.

Michael Talbot and his document The Universe As A Hologram is a "mind fish" to say the least. Taken from the works of physicist David Bohm and neurophysicist Karl Pribram, Talbot talks and provides evidence on how the world operates as a "holographic model." I don't claim to fully understand everything that's being said (as I'm sure most who study string theory would admit), but here's the easiest way to summarize just the intro concept of our "hologram world".

It was discovered in the 1980's that subatomic particles can instantaneously communicate regardless of distance between them. While some proclaimed this was a debunking of Einstein's theorizing that nothing is faster than the speed of light, others had different theories. Bohm theorized that the world is actually gigantic splendidly done hologram. This isn't to say nothing is real (in a sense), as he was talking about the mechanics of how holograms work.
