Super-sad about the end of "Breaking Bad?" Good news, then, it's coming back! In Spanish! Really!
The Spanish language remake of "Breaking Bad" – titled "Metástasis" – was announced a few months ago, but now we finally have a look at the weird, mirror-universe version that is the final product.
First, there's the classic shot of Walter White in his tightie-whities, except with Diego Trujillo playing Walter Blanco. (No, we're not joking.)
Then, there's the cast breakdown, which kind of, maybe looks like a high school play version of "Breaking Bad?"
We're most curious about whether Jose Miguel Rosas ("Metástasis") will say "Perra!" a lot (that's "bitch" in Spanish, Fyi), and if Cielo Blanco will get some weird plastic surgery between the first and second seasons of the show.
But easily the most surreal bit of all? The one that proves this isn't some sort of meth induced fever dream?...

With a surprising number of U.S. network and cable shows being remakes of foreign language hits, it's only fair that the reverse takes place.
The first trailer is online for Univision's "Metastasis," the upcoming Spanish-language remake of AMC's acclaimed "Breaking Bad" series which is set in Colombia.
Otherwise though, it's fairly faithful to the storyline with only a couple of changes (the motor home becomes a school bus).
Diego Trujillo plays Walter Blanco, a chemistry teacher-turned-meth cook. Roberto Urbina, Julian Arango and Sandra Reyes also star in the Jesse, Hank and Skyler roles respectively.

Diego Trujillo plays chemistry-teacher-turned-meth-cook Blanco, with Roberto Urbina playing the Jesse Pinkman role (here named Jose), and Sandra Reyes playing Cielo (this would be their version of Skyler White, Walter's wife). The trailer for the series has a laughable voiceover, and we have to second the Playlist's observation that it generally comes off as more of an SNL parody than a remake to rival the original. Take a look for yourselves, below.

Feeling a void in your life now that "Breaking Bad" is over? Do you have a serviceable knowledge of Spanish? Well, you can get set to go down the meth drama road all over again as "Breaking Bad" is back, kind of, with a Spanish-language remake, though it may prove that copies are never as good as the original. Entitled "Metastasis," the Colombian show has Diego Trujillo in the the role of Walter Blanco (ha), the chemistry teacher who breaks bad. Jesse (Jose, played by Roberto Urbina), Skyler (Cielo, played by Sandra Reyes) and Hank (Henry, played by Julian Arango) are all here too, but one thing that isn't? An Rv. "Motor homes are not popular in Colombia," Angelica Guerra, Sony's Senior VP and managing director of production for Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market said. "So audiences will see Walter and Jose cooking up their first several...

Back in May, Sony Pictures announced that it was remaking "Breaking Bad" TV series for Latin American audiences, stating that the show is incredibly popular in the Us, but unknown in many other countries. The name of the show will be "Metastasis" and will actually copy the original series. In fact, "Breaking Bad" producer Vince Gilligan has been hired to guide the Spanish-language version. To get an idea of how similar it will be, click on the image below to see the first photo from "Metastasis," which looks a lot like some promotional material for the first season of "Breaking Bad." "Metastasis" follows the story of an unassuming chemistry teacher who is given a fatal diagnosis and enters a world of drugs and crime, where he ascends to power. The cast includes Diego Trujillo (El Capo) as Walter Blanco; Roberto Urbina (Che: Part 1) as Walter's accomplice, Jose Miguel Rosas; Sandra Reyes...

He is el que tocar. Or at least, after a few seasons, he will be.
Diego Trujillo stars as Walter White’s Colombian counterpart in Metástasis, an upcoming Spanish-language remake of Breaking Bad. The character’s name? Walter Blanco, naturally.
And that’s not the only literal translation the new show has in store: Instead of Jesse Pinkman, this Walter’s meth-cooking accomplice is named Jose Miguel Rosas (played by Robert Urbina). His wife’s name is Cielo (Sandra Reyes) — the Spanish word for “sky.” The cast is rounded out by Julian Arango as Henry Navarro, Walter’s narcotics agent brother-in-law.

Get ready to meet Walter Blanco as Breaking Bad is getting a Spanish-language remake...
If you're already missing Breaking Bad and want to take the whole crazy trip again, you just might be in luck. Provided you speak Spanish.
Sony Pictures Television, the producers of Vince Gilligan's dearly departed drama has announced a remake for Latin American TV. Metastasis, which will be made in Colombia, will tell the story of put-upon chemistry teacher, Walter Blanco (Diego Trujillo) who partners up with former pupil Jose to manufacture drugs without the knowledge of his wife Cielo and brother-in-law Henry Navarro, who just happens to be a narcotics agent.
Gilligan has been consulted about the project, but the show, which will be co-produced by Colombian company Teleset, will take a slightly different tone. Hoping to enter the market dominated by hugely popular telenovelas, Metastasis will be...

It’s par for the course in the high stakes world of television that if an idea is successful, it will be replicated across other countries and cultures. The Us version of The Office is probably the most visible of these, being originally based on the eponymous UK sitcom created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, the former taking the lead role.
It’s happened, to a greater or lesser extent, with tonnes of other shows – Spaced (UK) was turned into an unsuccessful Us pilot, as was Coupling (UK) and The Thick of It (UK) – the last of those being reformatted by creator Armando Iannucci into the American critical darling and extremely funny show Veep, airing on HBO and starring Julia Louis-Dreyfuss.
It may be common for sitcoms, but it also happens in other genres of television. Homeland is based on an Israeli TV show called Hatufim (Prisoners of War,...

Breaking Bad is following in the footsteps of Gossip Girl: Both will soon be broadcast en español. Sony Pictures Television announced yesterday that the Spanish-language Bb, rechristened Metastasis, will air on Univision's UniMas in the U.S. and will air throughout Latin America. The mostly Colombian cast includes Diego Trujillo as Walter Blanco; Roberto Urbina (who's had small parts on Grey's Anatomy and The Mentalist) as Jesse, now called Jose Miguel Rosas; and Sandra Reyes as Skyler, now called Cielo. Blanco means white, rosa means pink, and cielo means sky, so all of the naming conventions appear to be intact. ¡Bueno!

Plus a Spanish-language Breaking Bad and does Fox’s Gavin & Stacy remake work News
Fox unveiled its fall schedule which doesn’t include any of the big moves that people speculated would happen. Glee will air on Thursday (but will apparently take a hiatus) to make room for the Greg Kinnear series Rake. American Idol and The X-Factor aren’t cutting back. Tuesday nights continue to be comedy night. The one major change is a plan to move Bones and Raising Hope to Friday.
Fox also announced it is returning to the mini-series genre, reviving 24 as a 12-hour story and ordering Wayward Pines, a Twin Peaks-inspired thriller from The Playboy Club creator Chad Hodge. it’s also developing a mini-series about Billy the Kid.
Meanwhile, Fox also released trailers for its new shows. I have a feeling you’ll be most interested in Us & Them, the Americanization of Gavin & Stacey.

Although Univision uncharacteristically went a little over-the-top when it prematurely trumpeted its Spanish-language remake of Breaking Bad, luckily everything worked out just fine—just like on Breaking Bad. Sony has now officially confirmed that it’s partnered with Univision on the show that will be renamed Metástasis—Spanish for “metastasis,” which is a word meaning “the rapid transference of disease that leads you to dealing meth, because fuck it.” According to The Hollywood Reporter, Diego Trujillo, star of such series as El Capo and A Corazon Abierto, will take on the lead role of “Walter Blanco” (naturally). He’ll ...

Reports of a Spanish-language adaptation of "Breaking Bad" turned out to be only a little premature.
Univision announced last week that it would air a version of the Emmy-winning AMC series. The news took Sony, which owns the rights to "Breaking Bad," by surprise; the studio said that while a pilot for such a show, called "Metastasis," does exist, no deal had been made with Univision.
Over the weekend, however, the two companies appear to have ironed things out. Sony now says the show is going forward and will air on Univision's UniMas channel. There's no word on a premiere date yet.
"Metastasis" will follow the same story arc as "Breaking Bad," that of a chemistry teacher who's diagnosed with cancer and turns to cooking meth to provide his family with a nest egg, only to find he has an aptitude for the job. Colombian actor Diego Trujillo will play...

After a bit of confusion, it's officially true: The Spanish-language adaptation of "Breaking Bad" is a go, Sony Pictures Television said on Monday. Univision announced the project last week as part of its 2014 lineup -- but that apparently came as news to Sony, which owns "Breaking Bad." It contacted Univision and expressed its surprise, since a deal had not yet been struck, an individual with knowledge of the...
