Katherine Devlin was born in and subsequently raised in County Tyrone Northern Ireland, about 60 miles west of Belfast. She is the daughter of an engineer and an art teacher.

As a teenager Katherine attended a college preparatory "Six Form College" in the town of Donaghmore, County Tyrone. After this, she matriculated for three years at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama earning a BA(with honors) in Acting. She then spent a year at The Lir Academy in Dublin, earning a Foundation Diploma in Acting & Theatre.
