Batwoman is finally back! After cutting season 1 short by a few episodes due to the pandemic and a brief covid-related hiatus, season 2 is ready with a new hero, some new villains, and Gotham in mourning for a missing Kate Kane.

Whatever the reason for Ruby Rose’s departure, new star Javicia Leslie is an exciting addition to the show who, as a bisexual Black actress playing a Black lesbian brings with her the possibility to broaden the definition of hero even further than Kate Kane already did.

Batwoman season 2 will feature yet another iconic villain from Batman’s rogues gallery. It’s been clear from the references in the first run that crime boss Safiyah (who’ll be played by Shivaani Ghai) will be the big bad of the next outing of the Arrowverse series, but now EP Caroline Dries has dropped the bombshell that we can expect another main antagonist to arrive later in the season – none other than Roman Sionis Aka Black Mask.

The showrunner revealed the news to EW, ahead of the premiere this weekend. As well as the Safiyah plotline, new heroine Ryan Wilder will battle the False Face Society, too, Black Mask’s outfit from the comics, which will tighten “its grip on Gotham distributing a perilous new drug known as Snakebite.”

Exclusive: Jessica Jones alumna Leah Gibson and Nathan Owens (Devious Maids) are set for recurring roles on the second season of the CW’s Batwoman. Both will join new lead Javicia Leslie, along with Shivaani Ghai, who also recurs in the superhero series. Season 2 is slated to premiere in January.

Gibson will play Tatiana aka “The Whisper.” She is a skilled assassin, unflappable and cold as ice in the face of danger. She is one of Safiyah’s most important henchwomen and still harbors feelings for her powerful boss.

Owens will portray Ocean, a zen gardner and thinker with a complicated past. A loyal soldier and fighter, Ocean moves to Gotham looking for a new beginning.

Dominion actress Shivaani Ghai has been tapped to join the CW drama’s Season 2 cast in the pivotal recurring role, TVLine has confirmed. (This casting, minus storyline details, was first reported by FandomWire.) Safiyah — who was referred to on multiple occasions in Season 1 — is the “fiercely protective ruler of a small community on the island of Coryana,” per the official character description obtained by TVLine. “A woman with as many enemies as aliases, she is compassionate and charismatic with both physical and psychological prowess.

Well, what can I say, except, um, I expected something better than this 30-second first look at the upcoming new Syfy Channel show “Dominion.” This is, of course, the show based on the Scott Stewart movie “Legion,” starring Paul Bettany as an angel who comes to Earth to save the day. I really enjoy that movie — or at least, parts of it. There are whole chunks of “Legion” that are pretty terrible. Yes they’re still calling it a pilot, but at least Syfy is issuing press releases about the Dominion project in development. Hopefully now that they have the major casting out of the way, they can get going on this and we’ll be hearing that it’s great and that it’s green-lit for a series run.

London, Dec 10: Shivani Ghai has joined BBC1 soap 'EastEnders' to play a Muslim girl who has arrived in Walford for her arranged marriage.

Ghai, who will play Ayesha Rana, wore a giant fluffy hat and padded coat as she met up with Phaldut Sharma (Aj Ahmed) and Himesh Patel (Tamwar Masood) in London, the Sun reported.

Ayesha will move in with family friend Zainab Masood, played by Nina Wadia, while she prepares for the wedding.

But things get off to a bumpy start when she arrives on screen later this month.

Thousands of screaming fans and a line-up of celebrities that read like the who’s who of the music industry turned up last night in the newly refurbished Leicester Square, to celebrate the World Premiere of iLL Manors – the highly anticipated directorial debut by British music artist Ben Drew (aka Plan B).

Heading the red carpet walk of honour was Ben Drew himself, supported by leading actor Riz Ahmed, who plays the lead protagonist Aaron in the film, as well as co-stars Ed Skrein, Anouska Mond and Jo Hartley.
