Donald Trump has repeatedly bashed Bill Barr since the former attorney general refused to buy into the lie that the 2020 election was rigged. He won’t have that problem with Pam Bondi, should the Senate confirm her as the new leader of the Justice Department.
In the aftermath of Trump’s loss to Joe Biden in 2020, Bondi tried to advance the former president’s baseless claims of election fraud, and falsely claimed that Trump “won Pennsylvania.”

Updated: Vladimir Putin may be up to his old election-interference tricks again, but America appears more prepared than ever to pull the plug on any Russian threats as tens of millions vote today.
Following up on warnings Monday night from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the FBI and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency of disruption efforts from Russia and Iran, federal agencies and metropolitan police forces are keeping their eyes peeled and officers on the street.
In Georgia, DeKalb County elections officials said that they had received bomb threats at seven locations, with attorneys seeking to extend voting hours because of the disruption. The bomb threats follow those earlier in the day that temporarily closed polling places in Fulton County.
Fulton County Police Chief W. Wade Yates said that five locations there had brief evacuations due to the threats. He said in all 32 of the county...

A Trump-appointed federal judge in Georgia slapped down a lawsuit filed by the Republican National Committee on Tuesday, and gave the lawyers responsible a brutal dressing down while he did it.
Judge R. Stan Baker, who was nominated to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia by former President Donald Trump, tossed out a challenge filed by the RNC seeking to disqualify absentee ballots that were accepted in person by seven Democratic-leaning Georgia counties over the weekend it what they alleged was a violation of Georgia law.

After nearly four years of interminable rallies, 34 felonies, one last-minute candidate switch, two assassination attempts, and several months of crippling anxiety, the national fever dream of the 2024 campaign season has reached its end. Election Day is upon us.
Voters across the nation are lining up at their polling places on Tuesday after more than 78 million Americans cast their ballots early — a significant decrease from the pandemic-era flood of mail-in, absentee, and early voting that clogged state counts and delayed results for days. Still, the race between Vice President Kamala Harris...

Georgia’s top election official on Thursday night blamed “likely foreign interference” for a video that is quickly racking up views on social media and purports to show a newly-arrived Haitian migrant claiming he voted for Kamala Harris just six months after arriving in the United States.
The video is “targeted disinformation,” Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said, as he specifically called on Elon Musk, the billionaire Donald Trump supporter, to take down the video. Raffensperger said his office is working with federal officials to investigate the video, which had...

Donald Trump refused a request for federal disaster relief funds from Washington Gov. Jay Inslee in 2020 after wildfires tore through the eastern portion of the states, Politico’s E&e News reports.
The dispute between the former president and Democratic governor adds yet another entry to Trump’s record of injecting partisan politics into disaster response efforts — all while he attempts to accuse President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris of intentionally withholding aid from Republican areas affected by hurricanes in the southeastern United States.

With just weeks left in the 2024 presidential contest, Donald Trump already has plans in place to aggressively challenge the election results if he fails to defeat Vice President Kamala Harris. According to four conservative attorneys and other sources who’ve spoken to the former president on this matter, Trump intends to declare — as soon as on election night — that the race is being “rigged” or “stolen” from him, by pointing to slow vote counts of mail-in ballots in crucial battleground states as his evidence for supposed Democratic shenanigans afoot.

Four secretaries of state are speaking out about the threats they receive regularly simply for doing their jobs, thanks in large part to election denialism perpetuated by Donald Trump and members of the Republican Party.

That’s what this is,” Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes said on Meet the Press. He spoke as part of a panel of four secretaries of state who appeared on the show Sunday.

Spoiler Alert: This article discusses plot points from the series finale of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
More than 25 years after he sent the “Seinfeld” gang to jail in the sitcom’s much-hated series finale, Larry David exonerated himself — both literally and figuratively — in the final moments of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
The April 7 series finale, which wrapped 12 seasons and 24 years of the unscripted HBO comedy, sees Larry on trial for accidentally breaking a Georgia voting law. In the finale, much like the last episode of “Seinfeld,” Larry sits on trial as rivals from his past — like Mocha Joe and Mr. Takahashi — serve as character witnesses for the prosecution, recounting every bad deed Larry has done.
Larry is found guilty and winds up in a cell, but while the “Seinfeld” crew remained in jail, Larry ultimately walks free — thanks to a legal caveat exploited by his old pal Jerry Seinfeld. As they prance out of the jailhouse,...

Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger recently fired off a letter to Larry David over a key storyline in the final season of HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Rather than chide him over the show’s portrayal of a state voting law, Raffensperger tried his own wit, ribbing David while trumpeting a key accomplishment: shorter lines at the polls.
The Curb story arc started earlier this season, when David, on a visit to Georgia, was arrested when he gave a bottle of water to Leon’s aunt, standing in line at the polls.
That is a riff on Georgia’s real-life voting law, the 2021 Election Integrity Act, that prohibits groups from distributing food and drink to voters as they are waiting in line. Democrats seized on that provision of the law as an over-the-top restriction among several measures they said would suppress turnout.

Larry David's arrest in Curb Your Enthusiasm season 12 prompts a playful response from Georgia's Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger.
Per The Hill, Raffensperger poked fun at David over his arrest in the show:

We apologize if you didn’t receive celebrity treatment at the local jail. I’m afraid they’ve gotten used to bigger stars. It’s the TMZ of mugshots. Given the obvious concern you have about access to voting in Georgia, you’ll be glad to hear that waiting times for all voters... in the last two major elections were under two minutes, even as we experienced record turnout.

The plot from this season’s Curb Your Enthusiasm has captured the attention on the state of Georgia’s top elections official.
The premiere episode of the final season for the HBO improv comedy featured star-creator Larry David being arrested for violating the state’s election integrity law after giving his friend Leon Black’s (Jb Smoove) aunt (played by Ellia English) a bottle of water while she waited in line to vote during a hot day in Atlanta. Larry (played by David) — whose mugshot invoked Donald Trump’s, when the former president was arrested in Georgia — is now facing a looming trial on the series.
The premiere storyline has been hanging over the entirety of the final season, which wraps with its series finale this Sunday.

A Georgia judge has tossed out six of the counts in the election interference case facing Donald Trump and other defendants.
Fulton County Superior Judge Scott McAfee dismissed criminal charges including solicitation of violation of oath by a public officer. Trump was charged in three of the counts, tied to his efforts to convince Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to “find” 11,780 votes in the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election. Their conversation was captured in a recorded phone call. Trump still faces 10 counts.
McAfee wrote that the six counts dismissed “contain all the essential elements of the crimes but fail to allege sufficient detail regarding the nature of the commission, i.e. the underlying felony solicited.”
“They do not give the Defendants enough information to prepare their defenses intelligently, as the Defendants could have violated the Constitutions and thus the statute in dozens, if not hundreds, of distinct ways,” he wrote.

Ken Block couldn’t believe it. The mild-mannered Republican elections expert had seen a lot of things in his brief work as a consultant for former President Donald Trump’s campaign, after he was hired in late 2020 to find proof of mass election fraud that could stand up in court. There is evidence that former President Donald Trump exerted pressure on Michigan canvassers to prevent the certification of the 2020 presidential election.
As reported by the Detroit News, the phone call recordings reviewed reveal that Trump personally urged Monica Palmer and William Hartmann, both Republican members of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers, not to sign the certification documents. The call took place shortly after a meeting of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers on November 17, 2020.
In the call, Trump emphasized the need to “fight for our country” and urged Palmer and Hartmann not to let others “take our country away” from them. He warned them that if they signed the certification documents it would reflect poorly on them. As a result of this pressure, Palmer and Hartmann did not sign the official statement of votes for Wayne County on that night. Rudy Giuliani has been ordered to pay two Georgia election workers a total of $148 million for spreading defamatory conspiracy theories about them in the aftermath of the 2020 election. The massive judgement is the most significant legal accountability any one individual has faced for lying about election fraud.
The eight-person jury reached the decision unanimously on Friday after deliberating for two days. The jury found Giuliani owes Wandrea ArShaye “Shaye” Moss and her mother Ruby Freeman $16,998,000 and $16,171,000, respectively, for defamation; $20 million a piece for emotional distress; and $75 million total in punitive damages.

Donald Trump has spent the last three years alleging that the 2020 election was rigged against him. The former president and his allies have done everything in their power to prove Joe Biden’s win was fraudulent, to no avail, because it wasn’t. Team Trump has simultaneously been laying the groundwork to make sure the 2024 election goes their way and, if it doesn’t, that their effort to bend the results in their favor will be more successful next year than it was after Trump’s reelection effort went down in flames.

Raffensperger added that “election officials should be free from fear and intimidation, which is why I’ve called on the General Assembly to increase penalties for election interference.

Since the summer, Donald Trump’s legal teams have been wracked by one abiding fear: betrayal.
On one front, the former president’s inner circle has fretted about how many co-defendants in the Fulton County criminal case — or co-conspirators in the special counsel probes — might turn against him, accept a plea deal, and cooperate with the prosecutors. But lingering beneath the fear of disloyalty lies another, darker fear about whether anyone anyone still working in, or close to, Trump’s inner orbit could already secretly be working with prosecutors.

In public, Donald Trump says his conversation with the Georgia secretary of state asking to “find” votes for him was “a perfect call.” But in private, sources familiar with the matter tell Rolling Stone, the former president sounded a different tone about the conversation, asking his attorneys to draw up proposals for how to suppress its use in the criminal case against him.
Facing defeat in Georgia by nearly 12,000 votes, Trump called Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in early January 2021 demanding that he “find 11,780 votes,” a number which Trump...

On Jan. 1, 2021, Lin Wood took to Twitter to reassure the public that he was not insane. “The tweets about my insanity are at an all time high this morning. Wonder why?” Wood wrote. “No worries. I am fine. The attacks do not concern me.”
In the days leading up to the post, Wood mused about the arrest and execution by firing squad of then Vice President Mike Pence as a last-ditch effort to stave off the Electoral College certification of President Joe Biden’s 2020 victory.

A judge denied former Donald Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows‘ bid to move the Georgia criminal case against him from state to federal court.
Meadows, Trump, and 17 others were charged in August by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis in a sprawling Rico indictment resulting from a lengthy investigation into efforts to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election results.
In the notice of removal filed last month, Meadows’ attorneys argued that since “the conduct giving rise to the charges in the indictment all occurred during his tenure and as part of...

Former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and five other co-defendants pleaded not guilty in the Georgia election interference case on Tuesday. The pleas came after Politico reported earlier in the day about a new trend seems to be emerging among those charged alongside Donald Trump: shift the blame onto the former president.
Thus far, 18 of the 19 defendants, including Trump, have pleaded not guilty. Hearings and court documents reviewed by Politico contain hints that some of them may be planning to point their finger at the former president in order to save themselves.

Mark Meadows took the stand before a federal judge on Monday, testifying that his actions in the Georgia indictment accusing him of taking part in an illegal conspiracy to change the outcome of the 2020 election in favor of Trump were part of his job as then-White House chief of staff.
Meadows defended his actions as Trump’s chief of staff and claimed that his duties required him to sit in on nearly all of the former president’s meetings, according to ABC News. He lamented that the period after the...

Donald Trump has been arrested yet again.
The former president surrendered to authorities in Georgia on Thursday, less than two weeks after Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis indicted him and 18 allies on charges related to their effort to overturn the state’s 2020 presidential election results.
Trump arrived at the Fulton County jail around 7:30 p.m. after flying into Atlanta from New Jersey. He will reportedly have his mugshot taken as part of his processing. The former president is listed as having “blond or strawberry” hair, standing at 6’3,” and...

Drew Findling has a storied history within the Georgia legal world. The high-profile Atlanta attorney is known for representing celebrity clients like Cardi B, Migos’ Offset, DaBaby, and NBA Youngboy, garnering him the moniker #BillionDollarLawyer.
Findling has also been a frequent backer of Democratic political figures, so much so that in 2020 he donated to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ primary campaign. The donation wouldn’t normally raise eyebrows, except that Findling is currently one of Donald Trump’s lead attorneys helping the former president fight Rico charges handed down by Willis on Monday.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis indicted Donald Trump on Monday for working to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia, just weeks after Special Counsel Jack Smith indicted him on federal charges for his efforts to subvert the democratic process nationwide.
It all seems pretty damning, but the wily former president has an ace up his sleeve: He’s going to simply prove the election was rigged and convince Willis and Smith to drop the charges.

Donald Trump has been criminally indicted for the fourth time in five months, adding another batch of charges to the unprecedented heap of legal jeopardy the former president faces as he vies to win back the White House and make his problems disappear.
The latest indictment comes in Georgia, where Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has long been investigating Trump’s efforts to meddle in the state’s 2020 election results. Willis on Monday presented her findings to a grand jury, which voted to indict the former president — along with...

During a Tuesday campaign event in New Hampshire, Donald Trump leveled a bizarre accusation against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, suggesting she had had an “affair” with a “gang member” she was prosecuting.
“They say there’s a young woman — a young racist in Atlanta — they say she was after a certain gang and she ended up having an affair with the head of the gang or a gang member. And this is a person who wants to indict me […] wants to indict me for a perfect phone call,...

Donald Trump’s attorney John Lauro has made some wild claims to defend his client, the latest of which is that America had a “peaceful transition of power” from Trump to Biden — ignoring the violence at the Capitol on Jan. 6.

The sheriff of Fulton County has announced that if Donald Trump is indicted locally then he will have to take a mugshot.
Sheriff Pat Labat stated that his office is currently in preparation for the possibility that Trump will be indicted in Fulton County. If he is, he will be treated as a person who has been accused of a crime, which will include a mugshot and fingerprints.
“Unless somebody tells me differently, we are following our normal practices, and so it doesn’t matter your status, we’ll have a mugshot ready for you,” the sheriff told Atlanta’s Wsb-tv.
In addition to this, the Fulton County Courthouse will have to increase its security if Trump is indicted. They have already set up security barricades in front of the courthouse last week. Labat has shared that they are learning from the past arraignments and indictments in Miami, New York and D.

Donald Trump is widely expected to be indicted by Special Counsel Jack Smith on charges related to his efforts to overturn the 2020 election. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis may be next in line.
Willis, who has long been investigating meddling in Georgia’s election results, said over the weekend that her work is done and that she and her team are “ready to go.” She’ll be able to level indictments as she pleases, too, as on Monday the judge overseeing the Fulton County grand jury on Monday rejected...

On Monday night, Donald Trump insisted to Fox News host Brett Baier that the 2020 election had been fraudulently rigged against him. “I won in 2020 by a lot, let’s get that straight,” Trump said. “They were counting ballots, not the authenticity of the ballot. The ballots were fake ballots, this was a very rigged election,”
Trump: First of all, I won in 2020 by a lot
Baier: You lost the 2020 election

About 50 minutes in to CNN’s town hall with Donald Trump, moderator Kaitlan Collins told him, “The election was not rigged, Mr. President. You cannot keep saying that all night long.”
It was a futile attempt to try to pin him down on his often-repeated unfounded claim that the 2020 presidential race was stolen from him, but Trump never budged from his claim, just as he hasn’t since election night.
In the immediate aftermath of the event, CNN has taken a drubbing on social media for giving Trump a platform to spew falsehoods for 70 or so minutes. Collins herself earned praise for her efforts to fact-check Trump in real time and to interrupt him in certain members. But before a Republican audience that gave him two standing ovations, the format instead ended up playing to Trump’s strengths. As he veered through answers, the friendly crowd applauded and laughed and,...

Donald Trump’s team hatched a plan in the weeks following the 2020 election to obtain desperately needed proof for their claims of fraud, traveling to Coffee County, Georgia, to hack into voting machines. Text messages obtained by CNN reveal that Trump operatives considered using that data not just to overturn the presidential election, but to also ensure Republicans retained control of the Senate.
On Jan. 19, 2021, two Republican operatives contracted by Trump’s allies and his legal team, former Nsa official Jim Penrose and Cyber Ninjas CEO Doug Logan, exchanged messages...
