Well, this might not have been the news One Tree Hill fans were hoping to hear regarding Nathan and Haley's place in the possible revival series in the works at Netflix. Bethany Joy Lenz and James Lafferty finally spoke out, and let's just say their updates aren't too encouraging.
Ever since news broke that Netflix is developing a One Tree Hill sequel series from stars and executive producers Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton Morgan, fans of the popular series have been eager to learn which additional cast members could be joining Brooke and Peyton in the potential revival.
The initial report about the series that's still in early development indicated that Danneel Ackles was in talks to reprise her role as Rachel Gatina and that Chad Michael Murray had "no plans" to appear as Lucas. For her part, Ackles is on board as an executive producer with husband Jensen Ackles.

Rumors that Netflix will create a sequel for One Tree Hill have been around for a while, and now, it seems that things are well-advanced for it to actually happen. The sequel starts two decades after where it left off, and according to Deadline, Hilarie Burton and Sophia Bush return to the screen as well as acting as producers for the show.
Netflix Is A Lifeline For Many shows
The streaming service seems to be a lifeline for many people, which completely explains why Christley Know’s Best alum Lindsie Chrisley is rumored to be looking to them for a special following the imprisonment of Todd and Julie Chrisley for fraud and tax-related crimes.
Even the likes of Ellen DeGeneres who was vilified and bashed by viewers managed a series with them, which might be her last swan song. But, she got some mileage out of Netflix before her rumored retirement.

While The Boys further boosted his popularity, Jensen Ackles was already pretty famous before it too. Renowned for his iconic performance as Dean Winchester in Supernatural, the 46-year-old heartthrob gets praised wherever he goes. If anything, his true chivalrous streak coupled with his breathtaking looks have transformed him into one of the biggest celebrity crushes in Hollywood.

And yet, Erin Moriarty and some of her other female co-stars from the satirical adult superhero series somehow seem to find him annoying. While the words “annoying” and “Jensen Ackles” don’t really fit in the same sentence, what’s worth noting is that there’s a massive plot twist here, for the real reason why The Boys‘ girls actually feel this way about him is rather hilariously understandable.

Update Saturday: The Winchesters executive producer Jensen Ackles weighed in on the series officially ending after no new network home could be found.
“With a massive Network shift coupled with an industry strike…welp…that’s some unfortunate timing,” he said on Twitter, thanking fans who rallied to try and save the show following its cancellation by the CW.
Previous Friday: The Supernatural franchise is coming to end — at least for now — as The Winchesters has not been able to get a second season anywhere. Producing studio Warner Bros. Television’s efforts to set up the Supernatural prequel series at another network or streaming platform following its cancellation by the CW have been unsuccessful. All possible avenues have been exhausted, and the search for a new home has come to an end, despite a strong #SaveTheWinchesters campaign led by series executive producer (and Supernatural star) Jensen Ackles.

The CW has opted not to pick up a second season of The Winchesters. The news is not surprising; the Supernatural prequel was among the long-shot renewal prospects at the network under its new ownership as it focuses on unscripted and lower-cost scripted programming (primarily international acquisitions/co-productions) in pursuit of profitability.
So far, only the CW’s strongest existing scripted series, All American and Walker, have been renewed for next season. The three least likely, The Winchesters, Kung Fu and Walker Independence, have been canceled. Remaining in limbo are Superman & Lois and All American: Homecoming, which are believed to have the best chance (however small it may be), followed by Gotham Knights.

Jensen Ackles, Danneel Ackles, and their production company Chaos Machine are entering a first-look TV deal at Amazon, Variety has learned exclusively.
The Ackles and Chaos Machine were previously under a first-look deal at Warner Bros. Television. It was reported in October 2022 that they had extended the Wbtv deal for another two years, but they have now exited that deal for Amazon.
According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, the Ackles and Wbtv parted ways on good terms and any projects Chaos Machine had in development with their now former studio home remain in the works. The Wbtv deal was solely a producing deal, while the Amazon deal covers both acting and producing.
The new deal marks an extension of the relationship between Jensen and Amazon, as he previously starred in Season 3 of the streamer’s hit series “The Boys” as Soldier Boy.

Sophia Bush, Hilarie Burton and Bethany Joy Lenz are continuing to use their voices to spread awareness about the abuse they suffered throughout their television careers. During Monday’s episode of the “Drama Queens” podcast, the actors were joined by Danneel Ackles to recap the Season 4 finale of “One Tree Hill.” However, the discussion turned into a much more emotional one that explained why they keep speaking out about the behavior of creator Mark Schwahn and what they experienced on later jobs.
First, Burton claims that Schwahn told everyone she was doing cocaine while filming the episode, during which she was taking caffeine pills to make it through the night shoots. Ackles and Burton also alleged that he then called their next employers to say they were problematic. Lenz added, “He was super happy to say anything that he could to keep people from hiring us at any moment.”

On Monday’s episode of the Drama Queens podcast, Hilarie Burton Morgan, Sophia Bush and Bethany Joy Lenz discussed being pressured into things they weren’t comfortable doing during their time on One Tree Hill.
Specifically, the women talked about the season four episode of the popular WB and CW series that ran from 2003-2012, where Brooke (Bush) takes Rachel’s (Danneel Ackles) photos for Maxim magazine. After the episode aired in October 2006, Bush, Morgan and Ackles were on the cover of Maxim in November 2006. But Bush and Morgan said that they didn’t want to do it. Fans of One Tree Hill will remember the moment Hilarie Burton, Sophia Bush, and Danneel Ackles appeared on Maxim magazine back in 2006. The men’s magazine is known for its sexy photos of trending celebrities, so when a trio of stars from The CW teen drama graced its cover, it was a big deal. But apparently, the cast members themselves were less enthused behind the scenes. Burton, Bush, and Bethany Joy Lenz now have an iHeartRadio podcast called Drama Queens where they dissect each episode of the show. In the November 28 episode, “It’s a Fiasco – Ep 404,” the topic of the infamous cover came up, which was featured in the episode. During their chat, Burton and Bush noted that they initially tried to turn down the cover, but they were told participating was not optional. Burton (who played Peyton) recalled a production meeting where the idea was presented as a make-or-break situation for the show.

The ladies of One Tree Hill are opening up about their experience working on the WB/ CW teen drama.
On their Drama Queens podcast, Hilarie Burton, Sophia Bush, and Bethany Joy Lenz chatted on Monday about the Maxim storyline that took place during the drama's fourth season.
If you watch One Tree Hill online, you will likely recall a storyline involving Brooke (Bush) taking photos of Rachel (Danneel Ackles) for Maxim magazine.
Bush, Burton, and Ackles went on to land their own cover in the magazine in November 2006, but they didn't want to do it.
“I know they weren’t trying to solicit basement bullies on the internet, but they saw that a lot of young men were drawn to a violent assault of women and they went, ‘We should do more of that.’ Not, ‘Uh-oh, hold the phone,'” Bush said.
“They were like, ‘Maybe we should do more!

As Supernatural began to wind down its long run, producers had given a lot of thought about how to keep the franchise alive, even if the original series was coming to an end. One of those possibilities involved a backdoor pilot for a spinoff called Wayward Sisters; even though the episodes aired in Supernatural’s 13th season, the show never got picked up to series. Two of the people who learned lessons from that experience were Supernatural star Jensen Ackles and his wife, Danneel. And though they wish that series could have made it to air, it did help them to develop The Winchesters, a new prequel series that just premiered on The CW. Building on a “beloved international treasure” like The CW’s “Supernatural,” which ran for 15 years and amassed an envious number of devotees, is not an easy feat, but “The Winchesters” showrunner and executive producer Robbie Thompson finds the daunting task as thrilling as it is challenging. Thompson, who was involved as a producer on the “mothership” for five seasons, was deliberate in crafting a world that paid homage to yet stood apart from “Supernatural,” crediting the creative team behind Chaos Machine Productions for its 1970s take on the preexisting universe.

“The Winchesters” star Meg Donnelly, who plays Mary Cambell in The CW’s prequel to “Supernatural,” prepped for the role with the same intensity it takes to fight monsters: There were Season 1 binges of the original series, stunt training and even self-taught Latin classes. But the Disney actress also credits Jensen Ackles, who portrayed her future son Dean Winchester for 15 years and serves as the spinoff’s narrator, for getting acquainted with the fantasy universe.
“Jensen on set was so helpful,” Donnelly told TheWrap. “He was there every day on the pilot, and he would give me so much advice — all of us. “The Winchesters” is an interesting “Supernatual” spinoff choice, because not only is it spinning off established characters like “Wayward Sisters” (its second spinoff pilot that didn’t go to series) had attempted to, it’s creating a new world with established characters whose very canon that this show is tackling was already established in “Supernatural.” Because “The Winchesters” isn’t just a spinoff, it’s a prequel: about how John Winchester (Drake Rodger) and Mary Campbell (Meg Donnelly), father and mother to “Supernatural’s” Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) Winchester, met and fell in love. The story of John and Mary was told multiple times over the course of that show’s 15 seasons, thanks to the magic of time travel and flashbacks — and, well, magic. But most important, what was established about John and Mary was the fact that while Mary came from a monster-hunting family, she got...
