"God's Own Child," selected for the Grand Prix (Best Picture Award), was rated highly for its structure, progressing from comic elements characteristic of Indian movies in the first half, to the tense courtroom atmosphere of the latter half. As the director mentioned, this film was inspired by the American movie, "i am sam," but it nevertheless has a great deal of originality, and the starring actor Vikram's performance is outstanding. For these reasons, we agreed that the influence of "i am sam" was not overly problematic, and we chose "God's Own Child" for the Grand Prix.
