Before April 17, 2019, Kalank was the movie everybody was eager to watch, people where seen racing against time, schedules, appointments, family matters, etc. today after five days - not even a week of its release, people right from day one are busy making fun and expressing their sheer disappointment.

Some movies are good, some are bad enough to disappear instantly from your memory, some are so precious that they become part of your life, and some are like Kalank, so bad that it?s an eerie haunt that refuses to go and keeps asking what went wrong with this touted epic directed by 2 States fame Abhishek Varman and produced by Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala and Fox Star Studios, starring Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Kunal Kemmu.

Hello again Raj and Pablo, wonderful getting a chance to chat with you again. Ok, so you have both been to many Iifa Weekends in the past, how does Iifa 2011 in Toronto stack up?

This has actually been the most successful Iifa Awards yet!

Really? How so?

Financially it has been amazing, but more than that the support and love from the South Asian community here in Toronto is overwhelming. The Canadian government as well has been extremely accommodating, especially premiere Dalton McGuinty. We have never seen a stadium that big filled to capacity, the popularity of Bollywood here is incredible. It is clear that Hindi cinema is getting recognition in the West, from Indians and non-Indians alike.

The 12th Videocon d2h Weekend and Floriana Iifa Awards came to a remarkable finish today, surrounded by the overwhelming hysteria from the Bollywood fanatics in Toronto. With a 21,000 strong screaming crowd, the biggest stars from Indian cinema filled the Rogers Centre where eminent personalities including Hollywood stars, Hilary Swank and Cuba Gooding Jr were in attendance. A Screenwriting Workshop, “The Six Layers of a Great Film and Great Character” will be conducted by Hollywood’s renowned screenwriter David Freeman at the upcoming Ficci Frames 2011. Ficci Frames 2011, the annual convention of the media and entertainment industry, will be held through March 23-25, 2011in Mumbai.

A session on marketing Indian films abroad, “Gateways to the European Market” will be conducted by Juliane Schulze, Senior Partner, Peacefulfish , Germany. The session which will also include consultation, will involve detailed presentation on European film financing covering the core European markets (treaties, EU funding, national & regional funding, specialized funds and cash rebates.)

Karan Johar is making good use of a second opportunity to release My Name Is Khan. The pre-climactic hurricane sequences from  My Name Is Khan, which were most coldly received by critics and the audience, have now been omitted from the film by well-known American film editor Alan Edward Bell.
