Rachel Bloom and Dan Gregor’s “Do You Want Kids?” has landed a development deal at ABC, TheWrap has learned.

Married couple Bloom and Gregor are set to write and executive produce the half-hour comedy, with the “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” actress starring in the series as well. Steven Levitan and Danielle Stokdyk are also on board to EP via Levitan Productions.

“Do You Want Kids?,” which hails from 20th Television, centers on “a husband and wife who in one universe have a baby and the other do not, and the many ways that huge decision alters their lives,” per the official logline. Bloom and Gregor, who previously collaborated on “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” are indeed married with one child in real life.

Bloom reunites with Levitan and Stokdyk after most recently starring on “Reboot,” which was produced by 20th Television and ran for one season on Hulu.

Bloom is set to star in the single-camera project, which she is writing with her husband, film and TV writer Dan Gregor. As Do You Want Kids? went to ABC, the half-hour will be produced by sibling 20th Television, with one of the top comedy producers on the studio’s roster, Steve Levitan, coming on board as an executive producer.

Do You Want Kids? is about a husband and wife who in one universe have a baby and the other do not, and the many ways that huge decision alters their lives.

In real life, Bloom and Gregor are in the first universe; the married couple has a child. They executive produce the project alongside Levitan and Danielle Stokdyk via Levitan Productions.

Dan Gregor, a writer and producer on Chip ’n Dale: Rescue Rangers and How I Met Your Mother, started his career roughly 20 years ago, during an era when Hollywood looked vastly different.

Back then, it was normal for him to develop a pitch for a TV show and take it to multiple networks. With a handful of offers on the table, he says he was able to negotiate the best deal possible. Two decades and several roll-ups later, that’s no longer the case.

“You used to have a marketplace to sell your concept to,” Gregor explains. “You’d often get multiple offers, and you’d have a bidding war. You could actually negotiate up all of your rates, salaries and others rights based on competition between the studios and buyers. Now that the studios and networks are functionally the same, it’s almost always a take it or leave it offer.

Exclusive: Paramount has rounded out the cast for its untitled Naked Gun reboot with four additions: Liza Koshy (Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts), current WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes, Cch Pounder (Rustin) and Busta Rhymes.

A Naked Gun reboot that’s long been teased finally has a release date. The cop comedy will star Liam Neeson, though it’s not clear if he’ll play Frank Drebin himself or a new character connected to the wacky detective made famous by the late comedy legend Leslie Nielsen. The Naked Gun reboot will come out in theaters on July 15, 2025, Paramount announced Wednesday, February 28 (per Variety). The so-far untitled film will be directed and executive produced by Akiva Schaffer. Schaffer co-wrote the draft script with Dan Gregor and Doug Man, the writing team behind the live-action and animation hybrid Chip ‘N Dale: Rescue Rangers. Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins produce through their production house Fuzzy Door. The Naked Gun came out in 1988 and tracked Nielsen as Frank Drebin, an incompetent police detective who must foil a plot to assassinate Queen Elizabeth II by turning innocent people into assassins through mind control.

Paramount Pictures announced release dates Wednesday for a number of upcoming films. This includes director Akiva Schaffer’s new untitled installment in the Naked Gun comedy franchise hitting theaters July 18, 2025. The movie, first announced back in 2022, stars Liam Neeson and includes Seth MacFarlane as a producer.

The studio also announced that Paw Patrol 3 will launch July 31, 2026, as a follow-up to the studio’s September sequel Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie that topped $200 million globally. The new film hails from Spin Master Entertainment in association with Nickelodeon Movies. Another animation feature — director Jeff Rowe’s Tmnt 2 — is set for Oct. 9, 2026, as a follow-up to the filmmaker’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, which came out last August and collected $180 million worldwide.

Liam Neeson’s Frank Drebin may have found his foil in the upcoming reboot of The Naked Gun, as reports have come out that former Bond villain Mads Mikkelsen may be close to signing on.

As reported by Daniel Richtman, “Mads Mikkelsen is in talks to play the villain Cane.” While no details have come out about Cane and Mikkelsen has not officially inked a deal for the upcoming Naked Gun installment, I would personally love to see him take on the role.

The famed Zucker Abrahams and Zucker franchise follows the happenings and mishaps of officer Frank Drebin, made famous by Leslie Nielsen. The trio of movies became known for sight gags, celebrity cameos, and Nielsen’s masterful physical comedy.
