Rex Reichenshammer completed the Producer Certification program at Southern Oregon University at the age of 13, serving as a camera operator and technical director for a variety of programs airing on RVTV Channel 9 in Jackson County, Oregon. That same year, as an eighth-grader, he co-founded Ashland Middle School's first closed-circuit live radio program, WAMS radio, which was re-broadcast on community television every Friday night.
He received a BA in journalism from the University of Oregon, and an MFA in film from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. He is a director of short films and music videos, and a writer of screenplays and short stories. His feature script, A Familiar Voice, was a 2018 quarter-finalist in the Scriptapalooza screenplay competition.
Rex has been living and working in Los Angeles since 2007, and has been teaching as an adjunct professor of cinema and television at Fullerton College since 2019.
