Kimo began working in the music industry as a keyboardist for a Capitol
Records Recording Artist for 2 years.
Between touring, songwriting and studio sessions, Kimo worked for Capitol Records where he learned the Business of Music from his mentor who taught him that Music was an adjective to describe the business. Over the next several years, Kimo applied this principal to his music, business and life.
After leaving Capitol Records, he formed Solopro Music Inc. The company provided production services and songwriting for established and developing artists. During this time, Kimo worked closely with notable industry power players.
In 2000, Kimo Kaulani & Production partner Geri King formed Nuendo Music Group, (which later became Red Skye Records). Red Skye Records was a record label distributed by Sony Music. The label had several successful releases and artists internationally over its 6 year span.
Kimo Kaulani also formed Ki 2 Music in 2000 as a music publishing company through BMI.
After a move from the East Coast to Beverly Hills in 2007, Kimo and his longtime production partner formed Audio Blueprint, Lotus Media Design and Khepera Records in 2008. All of which are under their parent company The Denar Group, LLC.
In 2010, Kimo Kaulani formed Hilo Boy Music Publishing with SESAC, also left BMI as a longtime songwriter, and moved to SESAC as a songwriter as well.
