16 time Billboard chart winning guitarist, record producer+songwriter and label owner David Veslocki has been heard around the world on countless commercial productions and concerts. As the winner of the International Songwriting Competition, the Unsigned Only Songwriting Competition, and the Eliot Fisk Prize for Guitar, his musicality has translated into success in many different styles. He has performed as a soloist with the Hartford Symphony, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, with world-renowned composer John Adams, in the T Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, at the Blue Note in NYC and countless other legendary venues around the world. Many of his original songs/productions/compositions have been featured on RCA Records, Atlantic Records, Sony Records, Kontor Records, and 300 Records, and he has charted in the top 10 in over 50 countries on iTunes and Billboard charts. His work is showcased in commercials for Ancestry, films like "All About the Money", "Roll With Me" and "Adam" on Netflix, and shows like "Paradise Hotel" and "Hot Date," "Cats 101" on Animal Planet, as well as on countless other placements through Universal Music Group and his publisher, the Royalty Network.
After graduating from Eastman School of Music, having been awarded a full scholarship, and as the first guitarist in their history to earn a classical and jazz double major Bachelor's degree, David attended Yale University and earned his Master's in classical guitar and during his Artist Diploma studied production also on full scholarship. Following his education, David toured with Francesca Gagnon and performed with Cirque due Soleil, starting off a career of touring that would later take him to Maui, Hawaii, Davos, Switzerland, Papeete, Tahiti, Edinburgh, Scotland, Seoul, South Korea, Montreal, Canada, Segovia, Spain and many other global venues. His music has been heard internationally on stations such as ABC, BBC, CBS, Animal Planet, NBC, Fox, Nat Geo, MLB, MTV, and VH1. He wrote and produced the anthem for the Dreamfields Festival in Bali, the campaign for Sperry shoes, a commercial for Pfizer, and has produced music and played guitar for leading music catalogues and jingle houses in NYC and LA including Killer Tracks Universal Music Publishing, Man Made Music, Found Objects Productions, Amp.Amsterdam, Human Worldwide, and many others. With a publishing deal with the Royalty Network and a distribution deal with Sony, his music has been heard across the radio in the US, Brazil, South Korea, Japan, Germany, and elsewhere.
As an educator, he has taught at Concordia Conservatory, 92nd Street Y, Conard High School, Hall High School, and is the founder of the Connecticut Suzuki Guitar Academy (CSGA). David and his students at the CSGA performed at Carnegie Hall in 2017 with Andrew York and traveled abroad to Spain to collaborate with Aflonso Aguirre Dergal at the Palacio Quintanar, where they performed with students from Segovia. The CSGA is rapidly becoming one of the most unique schools in the Northeast with shows at SubCulture NYC, at One World Observation Deck at the World Trade Center, and with performances at the Guitar Foundation of America's competition that earned his students the ranking of second place in the world for classical guitar. David has also guest lectured at Baruch College, NYU, Trinity College, and the Mid-Maryland Guitar Festival on the topic of music production and classical guitar, as well as commissioned pieces from award-winning composers such as Andrew York, Javier Farias, Nick Revel, and Ricardo Zohn-Muldoon.
This week we at Frameworks earned our fifth Billboard chart landing #6 on Classical Crossover in the leagues with the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker soundtrack, Andrea Bocelli, Lindsey Stirling and others! This is my sixteenth Billboard chart in the business (some as a songwriter, some as a producer, some as a label owner).
Just a year and a half ago I signed a distribution deal with Sony's The Orchard and founded Frameworks Records amongst others. My pursuit was simple: to build the greatest label possible for guitarists. I took all of my experience from working with many record labels over the years and created a new approach built around the music and the musicians rather than the "sign and shelf" attitude that seems to be all too common today. With Sony's distribution, the fantastic team at The Royalty Network, and a world class manager, I am optimistic that we are building what we set out to accomplish.
In moments like these I reflect on growing up with wise experienced musicians around me like my grandparents, music teachers and professors, musical heroes-many of whom are my friends. I am filled with so much gratitude that we live in a time where we musicians can create a future for ourselves that once did not seem possible. There are no limitations to what we can achieve.
I want to congratulate Zane Forshee for his beautiful album and for being a great copilot on this adventure.
