A trusted authority on world film sales, acquisitions and distribution, as well as film festival programming and management, Tom Davia is a seasoned veteran of the global entertainment industry. He is the Founder and CEO of CINEMAVEN, a unique Miami-based production company and international film consultancy specializing in comprehensive acquisitions, sales & festival consulting; strategic relationships; and the packaging and production of independent feature films and content for television. Although actively working with all types of finished films and projects in different stages of development from every corner of the globe, an admitted predilection exists for genre cinema, Spanish or Portuguese language films, or those with Ibero-American content, appeal or relevance. He is the Executive Producer of the 2016 award-winning US film Are We Not Cats and has been involved in the production of dozens of feature films in every imaginable genre over 20 years of experience. His work and success with such contemporary Latin American cinema classics as "La nana" from Chile, "7 cajas" from Paraguay, "Contracorriente" and "Todos tus muertos" from Colombia, "Zona sur" from Bolivia, "Mundo secreto" and "Asalto al cine" from Mexico and "A cadeira do pai" from Brazil is particularly important to mention. Committed to discovering filmmakers with fresh voices and innovative storytelling techniques and to helping them on their paths to future success, Tom regularly attends film festivals all over the world scouting for original material. He not only understands what makes good, bankable, sellable product, but how to best deliver new cinematic content to the global marketplace. His expertise comes from several key positions at film organizations worldwide including Shoreline Entertainment in Los Angeles and the Sundance, Dubai, Miami, and Atlanta film festivals, among others. He has served on several international film festival juries, most recently at SANFIC (Santiago, Chile), Gijón & Sitges (Spain), Guadalajara & Guanajuato (Mexico), Gdynia (Poland), Cebu (Philippines), Sonoma & Newport Beach, California (USA), Nassau (The Bahamas), PIFAN & NAFF (Bucheon, Korea) and the Festival des 3 Continents in Nantes (France). A true "global nomad" born on Clark Air Base in the Philippines and raised overseas in Japan, Korea, Paraguay, Pakistan, Thailand and Greece, Tom brings a multinational focus and sensibility to his work and enthusiastically believes that film is a universal language for all peoples. He is a 1994 graduate of Cornell University's College of Arts and Sciences and then completed graduate studies at both New York University (NYU) and the University of Southern California (USC).
