Luigi Pulcini is an Italian composer and a computer engineer.
He studied Composition at "Santa Cecilia" Conservatory in Roma and Computer Engineering at Marche Polytechnic University in Ancona, dissertating a thesis entitled "The Virtual Orchestra" about the new techniques of MIDI Programming and Digital Audio Sampling applied to Virtual Orchestration.
His music production showcases the strong roots of his Italian musical background, from intimate piano solo pieces to powerful and epic orchestral scores, where the classical symphonic textures tastefully blend with electronic elements.
In 2008, he moved to Los Angeles where he established his career as a film music composer, starting his long collaboration with composer Christopher Young on major motion pictures such as "Love Happens", "Drag Me To Hell", "The Monkey King" and "Deliver Us From Evil", among many others. In 2010, the "Society of Composers and Lyricists" selected him as one of the eight young composers attending the annual "SCL Mentor Program".
His scores for the feature film "The Investigator" and the short film "4" were awarded with a Global Music Award in 2012 and 2014 and nominated in the Best Score category at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards 2014. In July 2015 he scored the feature film "Deserted" directed by Ashley Avis, working with Academy Award winning film editor Douglas Crise ("Birdman", "Babel") and Academy Award winning sound mixer Ben Wilkins ("Whiplash").
Luigi is now based in Los Angeles, where he founded Film Scoring Lab, a company providing music production services to the film industry.
