Andrew DeCesare is an energetic writer and producer with a strong vision and entrepreneurial spirit. His passion for film started in his youth and continued on through high school and college where he studied Broadcast Production and Theater; Graduating from Washington State University, in May of 2008, with a degree in Communications. During college, he and a friend started and sold an online text book rental company which later became Chegg.com. Already having started and sold a business before the ripe old age of 22 isn't something many people can claim. And while that path seemed an obvious one, it was film where his true passion lay, so after graduation, he turned down a six-figure salary to follow his heart and dreams to Hollywood.
In summer 2008, Andrew arrived in Los Angeles with little money saved and a contact book empty. After six months of hustling and working for free he landed his first production job on the set of Avatar. The job was supposed to only be temporary but because of his work ethic and dedication it turned into 18 months of work and a close working relationship with legendary director, James Cameron. From that moment on, Andrew spent the next five years working for Michael Bay (Transformers 3, 4, & 5), Christopher Nolan (Dark Knight Rises), Katy Perry (Katy Perry: Part of me), and Allegra Clegg on the set of Paranormal Activity 4. During filming of Transformers 4 Andrew began working with director and stunt coordinator Mike Gunther. The two hit it off immediately and by the time Transformers 4 wrapped Mike had hired Andrew to be his Vice President of Creative Development for 5150 Action.
For the past eight years, Mike and Andrew have been working side by side coordinating projects for Paramount, Warner Brothers, Universal. Titles include, Star Trek Beyond, Transformers 3, 4, 5, Bumblebee, Bad Boys for Life, Shang-Chi and most recently Lost City of D & Beverly Hills Cop 4. While working in the fast-paced major motion picture world they have been working on producing and writing projects in house.
In 2018, 5150 Action produced their first trilogy, "Rogue Warfare." Mike Gunther and Andrew DeCesare co-wrote and co-produced the projects, with Gunther directing. The shoot was over 45 days, completely shot in the state of California. This project earned Andrew membership to the Directors Guild of America, Producers Guild of America and the Writers Guild of America. The first of three films is set to be released October 27th 2019. Shooting three films at once is no small task but has proven to our financiers that 5150 Action is strong asset in the production world. Stephen Lang (Avatar) Will Yun Lee (Altered Carbon) and Chris Mulkey (Twin Peaks) all-star in the trilogy. Rogue Warfare: The Hunt - took #1 on Netflix in August 2020.
Currently, 5150 Action is developing new projects and is constantly looking to push the entertainment industry to a new level.
