The forthcoming Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley, independent film The Greatest Hits and limited series Daisy Jones & The Six were among the top winners at the 2023 California On Location Awards, presented Friday.

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley received awards for location manager of the year (Dan Cooley) and location team of the year in the studio feature category. In the independent feature category, The Greatest Hits received awards for location manager (Justin Hill) and location team. Daisy Jones & The Six location manager Jay Traynor won in the television episodic one-hour category. In the same category, Winning Time won for location team. Daisy Jones‘ second award went to assistant location manager Courtney Ochoa.

Other noteworthy projects represented among the winners include High Desert (Stacey Brashear) and Minx (location team), both in the episodic half-hour location manager category. And Joker: Folie à Deux‘s Sheila Ryan-Cruz was named assistant location manager of the year – feature.

Senior production execs from Warner Bros and Skydance as well as leading producers and location managers are among the speakers at the inaugural Mediterrane Film Festival convention in Malta.

The programme, running from June 26-29, addresses topics such as film financing models, digital technology in film as well as industry work standards and sustainability.

Producer Jeremiah Sayys dropped us a line this evening with an update on his latest project, Opious, which was written and directed by his producing partner, Sheila Ryan. We have for you the flick's poster art and a teaser trailer along with the official synopsis.

After coming off his directorial debut Of Silence, which is hinting at a creepy scare fest, and his family friendly film The Legends of Nethiah, Jeremiah Sayys has stepped back into the horror genre for his third film, producing and starring in the campy comedy horror film Opious.

The story of Opious takes place 40 years after a demonic cult, Opious, tried to open a portal to hell. When a group of ghost hunters arrive to investigate a said to be haunted inn, they stumble upon a journal belonging to the cult’s leader, Arrlington Mason.

Jeremiah Sayys and his producing partner Sheila Ryan are gearing up for a busy production schedule via their WorldsLastHero Productions. Of Silence , a psychological thriller already in post-production, is about an ailing former scuba diver facing extremely tough times who begins experiencing otherworldly incidents. Sayys and Ryan have currently went into production on Ryan's writing and directorial debut Opious , which started filming last week, that stars Jeremiah Sayys and up-and-coming actor Paolo Cruz as ghost hunters that, along with their group of ghost hunters, track down a journal said to belong to a demonic cult's leader and upon finding it they unleash an unseen evil.
