If any DC-themed animated movie to drop in 2019 offers the best of both worlds, it has to be Justice League vs. The Fatal Five. The reason I say that is because while it does chart new territory that I’ll detail momentarily, it’s a love letter to those of us who adored the sheer perfection that was Justice League Unlimited. Believe it or not, even the film’s score mirrors what we once heard from the beloved animated series. Rest assured that you’ll feel right at home as soon as you hear a well-placed electric guitar accompany Superman’s first display of heroics.
Right now, I’m guessing that you’re champing at the bit to ask me if indeed this flick is in continuity with Jlu, as opposed to Batman and Harley Quinn, which really only shared visual similarities with The New Batman Adventures.

Justice League vs. The Fatal Five is a reunion of talent and style that bridges the old and the new.
Nearly 27 years after the Bruce Timm-developed DC Animated Universe began in 1992 with Batman: The Animated Series, and 13 after it ended in 2006 with Justice League Unlimited, the so-called Timm-verse is … well, not quite back. Yet the new animated film Justice League vs. The Fatal Five is a reunion of talent, and style, but with a new class of heroes joining the iconic characters (and the actors who voiced them) for a largely satisfying adventure.
Executive produced by Timm, the film reunites Kevin Conroy, Susan Eisenberg, and George Newbern to voice, respectively, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman – roles for which their performances are definitive. Visually the movie also looks like the Justice League Unlimited animation style, complete with character Easter eggs that call back to heroes (and a couple Arkham...

When the first trailer for Justice League vs. The Fatal Five dropped earlier this week, we’d suspected that much more info regarding the next DC Universe animated movie would be right around the corner. Luckily, we and other fans of superheroes in general have now been imparted with much knowledge pertaining to the highly anticipated release.
First off, let it be known that our forecasting for a spring debut was spot-on. In fact, you’ll be able to get your hands on a copy on April 16th when the flick hits shelves via 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack and Blu-ray Combo Pack formats. Or, if you prefer digital, you’ll have your chance to experience the adventure slightly earlier on March 30th.
Before we go any further, let’s check out the official synopsis:

It wasn’t that long ago when I admitted how Justice League vs. The Fatal Five‘s initial announcement didn’t exactly inspire much excitement within me, perhaps because 2019 will finally see Batman: Hush adapted to an animated film. But once we began learning more about the project and the “sneak peek” featurette found its way online, my interest level rose exponentially.
To succinctly describe why I care so much – and why you should as well – I need only say that this particular flick will serve as a spiritual successor of sorts to Justice League Unlimited, which I believe to be the best animated superhero series ever made. I mean, not only does it reunite Kevin Conroy (Batman), George Newbern (Superman) and Susan Eisenberg (Wonder Woman) as the Trinity, but it also brings back the same character models Bruce Timm whipped up for the aforementioned TV show.

When Justice League vs. The Fatal Five was first announced as being part of DC’s 2019 animated movie slate at last summer’s San Diego Comic-Con, I admittedly wasn’t as excited for it as other gestating projects because it’d sort of been overshadowed by other things such as the long-awaited Batman: Hush adaptation. But now that more details are making their way online, my interest grows exponentially.
If you’re wondering why you should also be swayed, the first thing you need to know is that this picture won’t merely be another sequel to Justice League: War. Enjoyable as (most) of those New 52-inspired flicks have proven to be, there’s something so satisfying to learn that we’re now getting a spiritual followup to the beloved Justice League Unlimited animated series because, as you may have read a few weeks ago, Kevin Conroy, George Newbern and...

Even though Reign of the Supermen‘s home video release is still a few weeks away, 2019 is already shaping up to be one heck of a year for DC animated movies. After all, not only will it bring us the long awaited Batman: Hush adaptation, but we also have an original tale in the form of Wonder Woman: Bloodlines to anticipate.
Actually, there’s another one in the mix which we should all look forward to, that being Justice League vs. The Fatal Five. Set to be the second quarter release in the line, it was first announced at last summer’s San Diego Comic-Con. At the time, we all assumed it to be part of the New 52 inspired continuity of flicks, but it’s turned out to be something else that’ll satisfy longtime fans of the brand.

Lisa Rinna is back on the small screen — only this time, she’s not feuding with her Real Housewives costars over scandalous accusations.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fixture is set to guest-star in this week’s episode of The Middle, and if People’s exclusive sneak peek is any indication, she hasn’t lost her acting chops since her time on Days of Our Lives.
On Tuesday’s episode of the ABC sitcom, viewers will be introduced to Rinna’s character Tammy Brooks, the charming (and filthy rich) mother to Lexie (recurring guest star Daniela Bobadilla) — Axl’s girlfriend and Sue’s roommate.

One way you can be fairly sure a film didn’t work for you is, when you’ve finished watching it and discover it won an award at a film festival you never heard of, that you then check if the festival is real, or if the director of the movie is the organizer of it. Yes, and no, to those two questions, so I’m really puzzled.
Peter (Erik Fellows) is a sleazy lawyer – we know because he forgot his beautiful girlfriend’s birthday – and he represents the Smith crime family, led by Lin Shaye, who either owed someone a favour or filmed all her scenes in a day. The son of the family is on trial for some crime or other, so they’re going to throw their bookkeeper under the bus for it – only he just discovered he has an incurable cancer and...

Will the ratings for Anger Management improve in season two or, will they fall even lower than they did in season one? We'll have to wait and see.
Revolving around an anger management therapist (Charlie Sheen) who has issues of his own, the cast also includes Selma Blair, Shawnee Smith, Daniela Bobadilla, Michael Arden, Noureen DeWulf, Derek Richardson, and Martin Sheen.
The comedy's ratings are typically the best way to tell if Anger Management would be cancelled or renewed for another season however, 90 episodes were ordered for season two as part of a syndication deal. Those will last for awhile and may or may not be the end anyway.

Ah, the stilted acting, the ludicrous plotting, the labored scripting. If it's Saturday night, that can only mean one thing: Lifetime is premiering a new original movie.
On Saturday (Sept. 28), the network released unto the world its latest shlockfest, "The Cheating Pact." A brief rundown of the plot: It's time to take the CETs (which is the made movie fake version of the SATs) and for Heather Marshall (Daniela Bobadilla, "Anger Management") it's bad news because her family is broke and her scores can't get her any scholarships for college. She and bad girl best friend Kylie (Laura Ashley Samuels) trick brainiac outcast Meredith (Laura Wiggins, "Shameless") into taking their re-tests for them in exchange for money, which she desperately needs to help pay for her brother's physical therapy.
All goes according to plan until pesky guidance counselor Ms. Walters (Played by Jamie Luner, in what might be the biggest joke of the film.

Back when Charlie Sheen was fired from “Two and a Half Men,” most people knew that it wasn’t going to take him long to move on to another show. Despite his strange behavior at the time, he undoubtedly had his pick of several projects, which led him to choose “Anger Management.” In all honesty, I had never even heard of the show before watching this first season. You would think the show heralding Sheen’s return to television would have warranted a large marketing campaign to get the word out. However, after finally seeing the result of what Sheen has been doing post-firing, it seems there’s a pretty good reason why Anger Management has not been publicized more.

Killer Joe (Lionsgate) William Friedkin’s film of Tracy Letts’ off-Broadway hit about a family of Texas trailer park cretins (Emile Hirsch, Juno Temple, Thomas Haden Church, Gina Gershon) who hire a cop-cum-hitman (Matthew McConaughey) to take out their troublesome mother, then foolishly cross him, is a stinging satire, given double-barreled audacity by Friedkin’s sure, and fearless, directorial hand. Earning its Nc-17 rating in spades, “Killer Joe” reminds us that daring, frank material like this is why movies exist in the first place. McConaughey gives the performance of his career, hopefully redefined after this. Also available on Blu-ray disc. Bonuses: Featurettes; Commentary by Friendkin; Trailer. Widescreen. Dolby and DTS-hd 5.1 surround.

It’s true, I like Anger Management and no, it didn’t happen overnight. While I’ve been a major supporter of FX’s comedy lineup, it’s definitely not made in the same cloth as It’s Always Sunny, Archer, The League, Louie or Wilfred (all of which are vastly different from each other). It was never billed to ape a certain tone or look like any of its older siblings at FX, it was created to lure fans of Two and a Half Men who chanted for Charlie Harper’s return, as well as viewers looking for a simple, entertaining comedy. Why? Ratings for one. The series delievered 4.53 million total viewers (2.5 million in the 18-49 demo) for several weeks before the Olympics altered ratings in August. FX will take those kind of numbers any day. Louie dreams of those numbers. Anger Management got a 10-90 deal, which meant...

Charlie Sheen returns to sitcoms on FX's Anger Management. Will he also return to big TV ratings? Revolving around an anger management therapist who has issues of his own (Sheen), the new TV show's cast also includes Selma Blair, Shawnee Smith, Daniela Bobadilla, Michael Arden, Noureen DeWulf, and Derek Richardson.
The comedy's ratings are the best way to tell if Anger Management will be cancelled or renewed for a second season. The first season typically airs Thursday nights on FX and there are 10 episodes.

Charlie Sheen's "Anger Management" is well on its way to 100 episodes, despite the fact it's only halfway through its first season. Due to the sitcom's unique business model, if the first 10 episodes reach a certain ratings threshold, FX is set to renew the series for 90 more installments. With the show breaking ratings records, it looks like Sheen will be a permanent fixture on TV screens for a few more years, at least. (Opinions on whether that's a positive thing or not are still divided.)

Charlie Sheen made his return to television Thursday night (June 28) with "Anger Management" on FX. How do you think it went?
As we noted in our review, Sheen's scenes with Shawnee Smith as his ex and Daniela Bobadilla as his daughter had an ease about them that hinted at a show that could be pretty watchable. The family relationship feels lived-in and comfortable.
That didn't extend, however, to the therapy scenes, which featured way too many ham-handed jokes. It's also kind of tough to get past the obvious redemption theme in Charlie the character's story without feeling like Sheen is using the show to offer a mea culpa for his past behavior, which involves things much more serious than the character's having cheated on his wife.
Also, the "slump buster" story in the second episode? Yecch. It's nice that Charlie Goodson wants to make up for past behavior, but the...

"Anger Management" is a show that will run on FX, but from the way it's being produced to what you'll see on screen, it's not really an FX show. That's maybe the most salient point about Charlie Sheen's sitcom comeback.
The show will premiere on the cable channel Thursday night (June 28), and it will probably score pretty big ratings given Sheen's high media profile. But "Anger Management" is at least as much about its business model -- producing a syndication-ready 100 episodes in as short a time as possible -- as it is about making audiences laugh with Sheen and the other characters on screen. Anyone who makes a show obviously wants it to run as long as it can, but that's never felt like the motivating force for, say, "Louie" or "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." That "Sunny" has been around long enough to be syndicated almost feels like an accident.

Chicago – Charlie Sheen opens his new sitcom “Anger Management,” debuting tomorrow night on FX in a new comedy block with “Wilfred,” “Louie,” and “Brand X,” by yelling right to the camera. It’s a spoof of the blow-up that got him booted from the best thing that ever happened to him, “Two and a Half Men,” and it feels like this show could be a clever riff on the real-life Sheen debacle in sitcom form. Then it becomes another generic comedy, one that makes the last show he starred on look like a timeless classic. Sheen isn’t bad on “Anger Management” (his performance is actually the best thing about it), but the writing is sub-sub-par with easy jokes, sexist nonsense, a dash of homophobia, and cliched comedy that’s too easy for a man with tiger blood.

If there was ever a person who personified the saying, “a train wreck waiting to happen” it would be Charlie Sheen. Arguably the biggest question of NBC's compelling drama "Awake" has been which of Britten's (Jason Isaacs) realities is real? Both? Just one? Neither? The other major mystery: Will Britten ever remember the circumstances surrounding that car "accident" that split his life in two? Looks like we might be getting some answers to both questions ... and likely, even more questions as a result.
We've got an exclusive sneak peek at the opening for this week's episode, "The Little Guy" (Thurs., May 10, 10 p.m. Et on NBC), which surfaces some serious issues for Britten with the introduction of a character that's only been cryptically referenced before.
Watch the clip above to see Britten unraveling with his "red timeline" therapist Dr. Lee (Bd Wong), then tell us: Do you think Britten will find a way to get back to his "green timeline" to see his son Rex again?
Here's NBC's official episode description...

Charlie Sheen is set to make his triumphant return to television on June 28 when his new comedy, "Anger Management," debuts on FX. But are audiences willing to get invested in Sheen after his rather epic "Two and a Half Men" crash-and-burn?
"Come on. Everyone deserves a 24th chance," he urges fans in the show's new promo spot, below. "What's the worst that can happen?"
Test audiences have responded positively to "Anger Management," in which Sheen once again plays a character named Charlie, just as he did on "Spin City" and "Two and a Half Men." Though Charlie Goodson is certainly no Charlie Harper, they do share a few similar traits -- like their fondness for women. Lots of women.
Expect to see Charlie on plenty of dates. In the first handful of episodes, he's linked to everyone from his therapist (Selma Blair) to a 23-year-old ditzy blonde to a grey-haired obsessive compulsive named Judy.

Charlie Sheen's worked with some rough characters over the years. Heck, Berta (Conchata Ferrell) from "Two and a Half Men" is about as tough as they come. But it looks like she has nothing on some of the people Sheen will be working with on his new comedy "Anger Management."
