The Odyssey star John Leguizamo has revealed that Christopher Nolan is taking an unexpected approach to his mega-budget swords and sandals epic. The actor, who recently joined the star-studded cast of the mythic action feature, touched on what it was like to work with Nolan during an appearance on MSNBC's Morning Joe show. He compared the director's methods to those of "an indie filmmaker," though he acknowledged that the difference is that Nolan has access to "crazy money" to bring his vision to the big screen.
"You know the thing is… he's got a crazy budget, it's not small, but he runs it like an indie film. Because he's not doing it by committee, he's not doing it by what the studio says. He's like an indie filmmaker, but with crazy money."
Leguizamo will appear in The Odyssey, which is an adaptation of Homer's Ancient Greek poem of the same name,...

Ryan Hurst has joined the ever-growing ensemble of Christopher Nolan's swords and sandals action epic, The Odyssey, which is currently in production in Morocco, and stars Matt Damon as the legendary hero Odysseus. Most famously known for his roles in FX's Sons of Anarchy and AMC's The Walking Dead, Hurst is just the latest addition to an already stacked cast, per The Hollywood Reporter. The actor's role has not been disclosed yet, so it's unclear how he will fit into the story, which adapts Homer's ancient Greek poem of the same name.
The poem tells the story of Odysseus as he embarks on a ten-year trek home to Ithaca in the aftermath of the decade-long Trojan War. He faces several trials and tribulations along the way, not least of which includes the Greek god of the sea, Poseidon, seeking revenge on the traveller after he blinds his son,...

Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey is easily one of the most anticipated films of 2026, and just like with all the Academy Award-winning director's films, he has assembled an all-star cast, and now some key roles might be revealed. Nolan's follow-up to Oppenheimer, the Academy Award winner for Best Picture in 2023 and a film that grossed $975 million worldwide, is none other than The Odyssey.
The Odyssey, along with The Illiad, is one of the two great epic poems written by Homer and one of the world's most iconic pieces of literature. Christopher Nolan has now set out to give the epic tale a definitive film version like no other.
Discussing Film is reporting that Greek media outlets are reporting some of the roles of the actors in The Odyssey. Matt Damon is, of course, playing Odysseus, and Anne Hathaway will reportedly play Odysseus' wife, Penelope. Tom Holland is Odysseus and Penelope's adult son,...

Filming has recently begun on Christopher Nolan's next on-screen feat, a take on Homer's epic poem, The Odyssey. The film has a murderer's row of talented folks in it, including Spider-Man himself, Tom Holland. And in the first photo taken on set, the actor can be seen at the helm of a ship, with shaggy hair and what looks like a full-on Frodo from The Lord of the Rings costume. At least that's what fans online have been saying since the image first made its way onto X (the artist formerly known as Twitter).
After looking at the photo, you might also agree with the observation, because, well...Holland already looked like he could have been a main Hobbit character or extra (had he been old enough to be cast in the Peter Jackson films all those years ago) with aplomb. So when you put him in a...

Kiefer Sutherland has been a renowned name in Hollywood since the late 1980s, but his best-known role to date remains that of Counter Terrorism agent Jack Bauer in his thriller television series 24. Throughout the years that the show aired on the screens, from 2001 to 2014, he perfectly aced his performance to the point where fans now can’t imagine anyone else in his role.

That said, it’s only understandable that fans want him back to reprise his role in a revival series from the franchise. And the actor, for one, is still interested in discovering that idea further, but he also has a better opinion for a revival series that could continue without him for years: An anthological series on different people, allowing him to take a break while continuing the franchise.

The Academy saluted Hollywood — still standing despite the terrible wildfires in January — with a montage featuring some of the most magical moments from movies filmed in L.A., including two from “La La Land,” “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” “Chinatown,” “Straight Outta Compton” and “Mulholland Drive.”
You can watch the video below, titled “The Oscars Love L.A.” and read on for the list of movies that go all the way back to 1973’s “The Long Goodbye.”
The clip begins with Dorothy Gale (Judy Garland) saying, “There’s no place like home,” and a shot of the Hollywood sign.
“F9”: Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and crew look out over downtown Los Angeles “Mulholland Drive”: Aspiring actress Betty Elms arrives in Los Angeles via taxi in David Lynch’s “Mulholland Drive.” “The Long Goodbye”: Philip Marlowe (Elliott Gould) at the beach in Robert Altman’s existential noir.

We’ve got a window for when Poker Face returns, so here’s a peek when you can see the return of TV’s most unusual crime solver!
Poker Face was a huge winner with audiences and critics when it debuted on Peacock in 2023. It’s been a longer wait for season 2 as the show was delayed by issues such as the 2023 Hollywood strikes and the busy schedule of creator Rian Johnson.
Thankfully, it’s coming with The Hollywood Reporter sharing a first peek at Poker Face season 2. That includes how it’s eying a spring 2025 release date. That’s likely going to be April or early May.

Natasha Lyonne and Rian Johnson's hit streaming series, Poker Face, is set to return this year. And, well? The list of people they've finagled to guest star in Season 2 is actually unhinged. Like, the list of people who are going to be on this show is truly outrageous and unfathomable to someone like me, a person who does not cast television shows. But if I did? And I managed to pull this off? I'd be screaming it from the rooftop, folks. Because this cast list? It's truly the best of the best of the funniest, most talented people currently working in Hollywood.
And it seems that Lyonne and Johnson recognize that, sending along a note with the press release teasing the series' forthcoming slate of episodes. And though we don't know the exact premiere date yet — all it says is "Spring 2025" — we do know the 12, 60-minute-long episodes will feature Many very,...

Next July is going to be a big month for Tom Holland. Not only will the actor be reprising the role of Peter Parker for Spider-Man 4, but he’ll also be starring alongside Matt Damon in Christoper Nolan’s The Odyssey. The two films were previously slated to hit theaters within a week of one another, but Sony Pictures has shifted the release date for Spider-Man 4, pushing the film back to July 31, 2026. That’s now two weeks after The Odyssey is due to hit theaters on July 17th.
That’s still mighty close, but it does provide a little more breathing room between the two movies. We don’t know much about Spider-Man 4 at this point, only that Holland will be returning and that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton will be taking the helm. In October, Holland said the script was coming along nicely.

The thriller, which unites Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman, follows two stage magicians in 1890s London, who develop an intense rivalry with one another. Obsessed with outdoing the other, the rivalry inevitably grows out of control, leading to dire consequences. Jackman and Bale lead the stacked cast, which also includes the talents of Nolan movie regular Michael Caine, Scarlett Johansson, Rebecca Hall, Piper Perabo, Samantha Mahurin, Andy Serkis, and the legendary David Bowie as Nikola Tesla. Nolan co-wrote the script alongside his brother, Jonathan, who would serve as a writer on several of his other movies.

Nolan's 2006 film, The Prestige, will drop on Hulu on March 14.

After forever becoming a horror genre fan favorite with his unforgettable performance as Billy Loomis in Scream, Skeet Ulrich — one of the two Og Ghostface actors in the original film — had the opportunity to join revered filmmaker Christopher Nolan's next movie. The casting did not work out in the end, leaving Ulrich feeling the sting of Hollywood rejection.
Per Screen Rant, Ulrich addressed his near-casting in Nolan's next movie, The Odyssey, during a panel at Megacon Orlando. The actor shared that he made it down to one of three possible choices for an unnamed role in the film, and he had just found out the day before the panel that he'd been passed over. While Ulrich acknowledged that he's had some "big wins" in his career, he noted that it's "not easy" to be rejected for projects and having to move on after "falling in love with the material.

An already stacked cast for what is shaping up to be the biggest movie of 2026 just added another stellar name to its ensemble. Deadline reports that Corey Hawkins, best known for his role as Dr. Dre in Straight Outta Compton, has been tapped for a role in The Odyssey from Christopher Nolan. This news comes not long after it was revealed that horror icon Mia Goth had also joined the cast of The Odyssey, which is due to begin filming soon and has been set for release on July 17, 2026. Hawkins was most recently seen starring opposite Samuel L. Jackson and John David Washington in The Piano Lesson, which is now streaming on Netflix, and he’s also been set for a role alongside Natasha Lyonne in Poker Face Season 2, coming to Peacock later this year.

Whenever Christopher Nolan starts a new production, you can bet that the cast will be absolutely stacked. Like, come on, save some actors for the rest of Hollywood! Per THR and Deadline, Mia Goth (MaxXxine) and Corey Hawkins (The Last Voyage of the Demeter) have joined the cast of The Odyssey.
As you might expect, there are no official details on who Goth or Hawkins may be playing in the film, but THR does note that Goth’s role “may not even involve speaking at all.” They say she could be playing a siren, one of those enchanting creatures whose song lures sailors to their deaths, or perhaps a goddess or even a statue. Hrm.
The embarrassment of riches which makes up the cast of The Odyssey includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Elliot Page, Himesh Patel,...
