Thunderbolts* officially wrapped back in June, and we were expecting at least one round of reshoots to take place before the end of the year. Now, Daniel Richtman is reporting that Marvel Studios has scheduled some additional photography for next month.
It's always worth pointing out that reshoots are the norm for any major studio comic book movie, and while some are still bound to spin this in a negative light, Richtman also claims that Marvel is "pretty happy with the film."
Test-screenings for Thunderbolts* were reportedly held earlier this month, and the reaction was said to be very positive overall.
Among other things, reports indicated that Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova is the main focus of the movie (no big surprise given what we saw in the trailers), which director Jake Schreier recently confirmed.

Thunderbolts* is one of the most anticipated projects in the MCU. The film will feature a team of former villains and anti-heroes, similar to DC’s Suicide Squad, who are now trying to follow a better path in the MCU.
The movie will also introduce Sentry, one of Marvel’s most powerful characters, played by Lewis Pullman. The team’s lineup includes familiar faces: David Harbour as Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Wyatt Russell as John Walker (U.S. Agent), Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, the MCU’s new Black Widow.
While the plot remains largely under wraps, the official synopsis hints that the Thunderbolts will take on various missions, only to discover they are being set up to clash with one another.

The defamation lawsuit against Rebel Wilson over claims she made about producers of her directorial debut The Deb survived a key hurdle this week after a judge denied Wilson’s motion to toss the case.
The Deb producers Amanda Ghost, Gregor Cameron, and Vince Holden sued Wilson back in July, days after the actress posted a video on social media accusing them of embezzlement and sexual harassment. She further claimed that the producers were trying to sabotage the film’s premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Rebel Wilson’s hopes to squelch The Deb producers’ defamation lawsuit against her have been stymied by a Los Angeles judge.
“Because the Court finds that the statements are not protected activities subject to an anti-slapp motion, the Court does not proceed to the second prong of the analysis for the Plaintiffs’ likelihood of prevailing on the merits,” ruled LA Superior Court Judge Thomas D. Long last night, confirming his tentative of earlier on November 21. “Accordingly, the anti-slapp motion is hereby Denied.”
“The fact that defendant’s statements accuse plaintiff of criminal conduct make them defamatory on their face,” he stated.
The ruling comes after a long-ish hearing in downtown LA on Thursday where dueling lawyers for Amanda Ghost, Gregor Cameron and Vince Holden went head-to-head with attorney for the Pitch Perfect star over Wilson’s claims of “vile and disgusting behavior” earlier this year against the producers.

Something Wicked this way comes in this week’s film quiz, with 30 all-new film-related questions, some of them about witchy business…
A movie version of Wicked has been a long time coming down the yellow brick road and this week’s new release still only covers the first half of the smash-hit Broadway musical. Meanwhile, this week’s film quiz is themed around witches but there are also questions about werewolf and vampire movies, slasher-movie villains, found-footage horror… heck, it’s looking more like a Halloween quiz than some of our Halloween ones.
Once you’ve completed all three rounds of movie-related questions, you’ll find a link to a separate post with the correct answers at the bottom of this post. As always, this is just for fun, but please let us know how you did in the comments (scores out of 31 this week!) and give us any other lovely feedback.

Based on what we know about the team in the comics, fans had made a lot of assumptions about Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts* when the movie was first announced, and the teasers we've seen seemed to confirm at least some of the theories were on the level.
However, director Jake Schreier has now indicated that there's a lot more to this film than meets the eye, and that even the basic premise might not be completely accurate.
"I've seen a lot of synopses out there that just say, as though it's a fact, that it's a team assembled by Valentina to go do bad things," the filmmaker tells Empire in their latest issue. "I understand why that would be the assumption, but that is not the story."
Schreier also confirmed that Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) will be the main focus.

Thunderbolts* is a film that fans have increasingly become more excited about with each successive trailer. Given that the film brings back a slew of fan-favorite characters like Bucky Barnes and Yelena Belova, the film is shaping up to be quite the spectacle, with a few characters that usually wouldn’t be front and center in other MCU films.

One of the characters that is going to make an appearance in the film is Bob, largely considered to be Robert Reynolds or The Sentry. While probably not a one-to-one adaptation from the comics, there might be one big change that the character might adhere to in the films, that might be in line with something that Marvel had been doing in the MCU with other characters.

Hulk is one of the most powerful superheroes in the comics, but that doesn’t mean he can’t get a power upgrade from time to time. This is exactly what’s going to happen as the ‘What If..?’ series of one-shot stories expands.
Instead of Norrin Radd becoming the Silver Surfer, Galactus will use his cosmic power to transform Bruce Banner into the Herald Hulk: Smasher of the Spaceways.
The story, published on January 1, 2025, is written by Matthew Groom, with art by Lan Medina and a cover by Ron Lim. The official synopsis is as follows:
The first in a new series of one-shots that asks the question: What if Galactus recruited some of Marvel’s best and brightest heroes as his new cosmic heralds? See how the Power Cosmic transforms these once-familiar champions, twisting and turning all of Marvel history in their wake!

In recent weeks, it seems the vast majority of MCU fans have gone from being disappointed by Thunderbolts*'s non-comic-accurate team roster to acknowledging that it could be one of 2025's best superhero movies.
That was evident from the recent D23 Brazil sneak peek and we now have some new intel on the movie courtesy of a recent test screening.

Thunderbolts* is one of the most exciting upcoming movies in the MCU. It will feature a team of former villains and anti-heroes, similar to DC’s Suicide Squad, who are now trying to do better in the MCU.
The movie will also introduce Sentry, one of Marvel’s most powerful characters, played by Lewis Pullman.
We already know most of the team members. David Harbour will return as Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, and Wyatt Russell as John Walker (U.S. Agent). Olga Kurylenko will reprise her role as Taskmaster, and Florence Pugh will return as Yelena Belova, the MCU’s new Black Widow.
The movie will also feature Julia Louis-Dreyfus returning as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. Valentina is smart, manipulative, and always has her own agenda, working behind the scenes to get what she wants. She’s unpredictable, often playing both sides to her advantage.

With Sasheer Zamata portraying the role of Jennifer Kale in the show, comic book fans were excited to see her on-screen (and for a rightful reason too). You see, Jennifer Kale is connected to Ghost Rider and Man-Thing in the comics. This could only mean one thing, Marvel’s Midnight Sons.
Fans Are Hoping For Sasheer Zamata’s Return
There is more to Jennifer Kale than meets the eye. According to the comics, the character has a long connection to magic and “witches” (as they call it) and is quite a powerful character!

Marvel had a rough year in 2023. Many of its properties underperformed, and they lost their big villain due to Jonathan Majors being fired. Looking forward to their upcoming slate, comic fans have been excited about some of the studio’s projects over the next few years. Will these films help Marvel regain control? The upcoming Thunderbolts film has been one that fanboys have been hoping to see since the MCU started. With some recent news about the property coming up, it seems like the right time to break down what we know about the production.
Who Are The Thunderbolts?
The team first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1997 in an issue of The Incredible Hulk. They seemed to be a new group of superheroes that had arrived on the scene and gained acclaim very quickly. The reader was informed that the group was actually a group of supervillains led by Baron Zemo.

While those who rarely engage with anime they’re often surprised by the diversity within the genre. For every big series about fighting titans, ninjas, or super-powered beings, there are smaller movies and shows that handle low-stakes life. Adapted from the popular manga series by Takashi Imashiro, Ghost Cat Anzu allows its silly characters room to stretch their legs. While it’s nice to have a mostly relaxing experience, a self-important title character upends the adaptation. Ghost Cat Anzu is mostly fine, but in an era with so many great anime films, it’s a frustrating miss.

Legacy characters are nothing new in superhero releases. Some examples of this practice have been extremely successful like ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home.’ Some have been less successful as was the case with ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’
The next MCU projects rumored to include plenty of legacy characters are ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ set for a 2026 release and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ set for a 2027 release. Keep in mind that there are already over 50 characters rumored to appear in ‘Secret Wars’ which really doesn’t help the credibility of all those vast rumors and reports.
Cosmic Circus’ Alex Perez however now reports that there have been talks to include All legacy characters. This was said during his November Ama, keep in mind that Perez is highly reliable and has a solid track record when it comes to scoops and leaks.
Perez explained that Marvel is considering bringing back legacy characters in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Secret Wars.

Marvel Studios didn't bring any new announcements to D23 Brazil, but Kevin Feige was still kind enough to share a couple of big surprises with fans at home, including action-packed new trailers for Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts*.
You can check those out Here and Here, but Disney has just sent over some official stills from two of 2025's biggest comic book movies.

Marvel Studios released a new video for “Thunderbolts,” which looks like it will be different from other superhero movies. The movie, which is set to come out on May 2, 2025, will bring together a group of complicated figures from previous Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies to create an alternative to the current superhero scene.
The video, which was shown at D23 Brazil, shows a large cast, with Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, and David Harbour as Red Guardian. Wyatt Russell joins them as John Walker, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, and Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster. Julia Louis-Dreyfus plays Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who oversees all of them.

Disney has revealed the release date the second and final season of Star Wars: Andor, and the world is a little brights. We'll be watching the continuing adventures of budding rebel freedom fighter Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. This news comes straight from the official Star Wars page.
Disney has made a lot of Star Wars spinoff shows over the past several years. Andor is prequel to the 2016 movie Rogue One, about attempts to steal plans for the Death Star. If you'd told me at the time that a prequel to that movie revolving around someone who wasn't even the main character would go on to become the best of those spinoffs, I wouldn't have believed you. But the first season of Andor blew open the Star Wars universe in ways that fans had never seen, completely eschewing lightsaber-swinging Jedis to focus on the ordinary men and women fighting against the Empire,...

A new team of antiheroes is preparing to take over the MCU next year, teasing plenty of Avengers-sized action sequences.
Ahead of the film’s May 2, 2025 premiere, Disney and Marvel Studios debuted a new special look at Thunderbolts* during Saturday’s D23 Expo in Brazil, starting with an explosive desert chase scene.
The sneak peek features the titular crew of antiheroes traveling a deserted highway in Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian’s (David Harbour) big red limo when a military convoy begins tailing them and opening fire. As Yelena Bolova/Black Widow (Florence Pugh) hangs out the passenger’s side window to return fire, the humvees are somehow blown to pieces.
Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier rides through the wreckage on a motorcycle with a much bigger weapon in hand. “That guy’s so cool,” raves Red Guardian, shortly before Bucky stops and shoots up their vehicle with an expolosive.

"So what? Do we all just punch and shoot?" Lock & load. Marvel has debuted a new almost 4-minute long promo trailer from D23 Brazil for their next big MCU movie Thunderbolts*. This will kick off the summer 2025 movie season opening on May 2nd, 2025 next year. A ragtag group of antiheroes is sent on covert missions for the American government. This still just looks like Marvel's MCU version of The Suicide Squad, bringing together a group of offbeat superheroes / supervillains to join up as the "Thunderbolts" and do the fed's dirty work. The fun ensemble cast includes David Harbour as Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr / Ghost, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, Sebastian Stan as Bucky, Lewis Pullman as Bob aka "Sentry", Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and Florence Pugh as Black Widow Yelena Belova, plus Geraldine Viswanathan as Mel, and finally Julia Louis-Dreyfus as the handler Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.

The Thunderbolts are essentially the answer to DC’s Suicide Squad — both are teams of villains and antiheroes forced to undergo dangerous missions for the good of mankind. In addition to Pugh, who reprises her “Black Widow” role of Yelena Belova, the cast includes Harbour, Stan as the Winter Soldier, Olga Kurylenko (Taskmaster from “Black Widow”), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost from “Ant-Man and the Wasp”), Wyatt Russell (John Walker from “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”) and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (as mastermind Valentina Allegra de Fontaine). “Top Gun: Maverick” star Lewis Pullman plays a mysterious character named Bob.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe's Multiverse Saga is well underway but the next immediate chapters of it will be focused on the franchise's more grounded storylines. Over the course of the past three years, there have been ambitious multiverse-altering events going down in the likes of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Loki, and even this year's Deadpool and Wolverine, but we're returning to the straightforward world of the MCU for some of the upcoming titles.

Remember when in 2007 and 2011 Nicolas Cage portrayed the Johnny Blaze version of Ghost Rider in Ghost Rider and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, respectively? Yeah, the movies were made in the pre-mcu era and while they were never major hits at the time, with all the nostalgia, fans want to see the character once again.
We know that since Disney’s acquisition of Fox, the rights to these characters switched to the MCU, which now has access to Ghost Rider. Barry Keoghan made his debut as the Dark Knight's most iconic foe in The Batman, showing up near the end of the movie as an "Unnamed Arkham Prisoner" who converses with The Riddler (Paul Dano). It soon became clear that this disfigured criminal was supposed to be The Joker - or at least, the man who will eventually become The Joker.

Not long after the main cast of The Fantastic Four: First Steps was announced, several supporting players were added to the Marvel Studios reboot, but their characters were not disclosed and we still don't know who they'll be playing.

Agatha All Along recently wrapped up with its final two episodes. The show brought several character stories to a close while setting up exciting possibilities for others. Agatha’s story ended in episode 8, where she faced a dramatic twist.
In this second-to-last episode, Agatha finally accepts that she can’t escape Death forever. In a surprising act of sacrifice, she chooses to give herself up so that Billy Maximoff can survive.
Luckily for fans, Agatha comes back in spirit form. With endless time ahead of her and unable to face her son in the afterlife, she chooses to stay close to Billy as he sets out to find his twin brother, Tommy.
If you remember from episode 8, Agatha and Billy managed to pull Tommy’s soul from “the void” and place it into a young boy who had tragically drowned. Billy now knows his brother’s soul is out there,...

‘Agatha All Along’ recently released its two final episodes. The shows concluded several character arcs and left quite promising futures for many others, including Agatha who unfortunately met her end in episode 8.
In the penultimate episode of the show, Agatha finally realizes she cannot run from Death (literally) forever, and in an unusual moment of sacrifice decides to give herself in so Billy Maximoff could live.
Fortunately for the audience, Agatha returns in spirit form. With eternity in front of her and unable to face her son in the afterlife she decides to follow Billy on his journey to locate his twin brother Tommy.
If you can recall in episode 8, Billy and Agatha were able to pull Tommy’s soul from “the void” and summon it inside a young boy who drowned due to a prank. Billy is now aware that his brother’s soul is somewhere out there, but...

Thunderbolts* is shaping up to be one of the most exciting new MCU movies. The film will introduce a team of former villains and anti-heroes, similar to DC’s Suicide Squad, who are now trying to do good. It will also bring in Sentry, one of Marvel’s most powerful characters, played by Lewis Pullman.
We know most of the team members: David Harbour is back as Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, and Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent. Olga Kurylenko will return as Taskmaster, and Florence Pugh will return as Yelena Belova, the new Black Widow.
The team’s leader is Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who now owns Avengers Tower—likely to become Sentry’s new Watchtower.
Fans have long speculated that Thunderbolts* might introduce the Dark Avengers. In the comics, the Dark Avengers are a group of anti-heroes...
