NBC has announced when The Hunting Party will be on TV, but is it a bad time slot for the new crime drama?
NBC has just announced its winter/spring 2025 schedule, with a mix of new and returning shows. Among them is the new crime thriller The Hunting Party. Created by JJ Bailey, the series focuses on a pack of cops, federal agents, and investigators brought in when a jailbreak occurs at a high-security prison. The catch? The prison is so ultra top-secret that the government doesn’t even acknowledge it exists or who was held there. That means the team can’t rely on help from other agencies while also wondering who they’re really working for.
The show is set to debut Monday, Feb. 3 at 10/9c. That seems like a good entry for the new thriller, yet the question is whether this is a good place for this drama or not.

It's been an interesting year for Hallmark with the premieres of The Way Home and Ride and countless feel-good movies.
Despite initially touting Ride as a success story, the cabler has quietly opted to part ways with the rodeo family drama.
Ride tells the story of a multigenerational family ensemble and follows the lives of the McMurrays, part of a rodeo dynasty going back a generation, as they struggle to keep their beloved ranch afloat.
"After a tragic loss, each character embarks on an empowering journey of transformation and self-discovery while also uncovering a twisted web of secrets, threatening to tear the family and their small Colorado town apart at the seams," Hallmark teased in anticipation of the series debut.
Ride also had a decent cast that came from TV Fanatic fan-favorite series, so there was every indication it would be a success story.

You can scarcely surf the great streaming ocean without happening on a serial killer documentary or series, a fact that probably says more about us than the entertainment industry. All options, however, are not created equal. For every few quick-and-dirty procedurals, you’ll find something with real style and personality — something like The Lady of Silence: The Mataviejitas Murders, a zesty doc that walks right up to the edge of dark comedy, peers over the cliff, and takes a cheeky plunge into something weird and wonderful. Director Maria José Cuevas...

Ride continually shows that a family's love is unconditional, and on Ride Season 1 Episode 9, when Valeria confessed everything about her past, the McMurrays still accepted her, unlike her father and his wife.
Valeria had been running for so long and had difficulty trusting anyone.
Even though Austin was the oldest McMurray sibling, he doubted his family's love too and also got into deep trouble, and he only trusted Valeria to help him.
After Grace Booker recognized her, Valeria knew she only had a limited time before her father found her. Even though Valeria usually acts strong, she's still afraid of her father.
Something about her father made her feel like a scared teenager again.
Valeria felt like she lost everything when her mom died. Her dad couldn't wait to ship her off to a farm school instead of helping her grieve her mother.
Teenagers should feel safe and secure, not...

Austin cheated, but not the way Missy suspected.
Missy suspected Austin cheated on her and tried to meet the mysterious woman to get answers on Ride Season 1 Episode 6. They weren't the answers she expected, and they could alter everything for the McMurrays.
Meanwhile, Isobel and Hank appealed to Daniel Booker, Gus's dad, to fund their new rodeo stadium.
Missy seemed shaken up after seeing Polly Kern at the Frontier BBQ on Ride Season 1 Episode 5. Since it only just occurred, hearing her repeat the story to everyone in the family felt repetitive.
Things got worse when Missy learned that Gus and Cash got into an old-school brawl. She thought Cash kept secrets from her, too, and wondered if she could trust any of the McMurray men.
Missy: Did you get into a fight with Gus?
Tuff: Really?
Valeria: Busted!
Cash: You’ve had a lot on your mind

Sara Garcia portrays Valeria Galindo, Missy McMurray's best friend and one of the most interesting characters on Hallmark's Ride.
TV Fanatic chatted with Sara about Valeria's past secrets, her close relationship with Isobel, and if Valeria's secrets will hurt the McMurrays.
Check out the interview below:
Hi Sara. I love Valeria. She's become one of my favorite characters on Ride. What are some of your favorite things about playing her?
There are so many things. First of all, she seems to be good at everything. She has many skills, and they show up throughout the season. In Ride Season 1 Episode 4, we saw her as an expert poker player. Since she has many skills, I learned more skills.
I learned how to play poker from a professional. I got to learn how to shuffle cards professionally. That was fun.

There’s a new cowboy in town on Hallmark Channel’s Ride. The April 16 episode of the rodeo family drama introduced Cody, a farrier played by James Tupper. He was on hand to help Isabel (Nancy Travis) deal with a tricky situation involving one of her mares. But is it possible that he had more on his mind than just assisting with a horse?

The McMurrays and their friends strived to redefine themselves in Ride Season 1 Episode 4, especially the three lead women.
One of the reasons this series works is all three of them -- Isobel, Missy, and Valeria -- are strong and independent and don't want to be defined by relationships or their pasts.
Let's begin with Isobel, our strong matriarch, who wouldn't let anyone tell her what to do.
Isobel runs everything at the ranch, and she does not stop to think about herself. Out of her children, Tuff was the one that noticed that she was pulling all-nighters dealing with a pregnant horse.
As the baby of the family and the ranch foreman, he seemed most in tune with his mom's responsibilities and moods.
While Valeria was the one to suggest throwing Isobel a party, everyone wanted to honor the woman who gave so much to them.
She’s always celebrated everyone else.

It looks like Hallmark Channel is trying to catch some of that Yellowstone fever with the series premiere of its new rodeo family drama Ride.

Spoiler Alert! This story reveals plot point from the March 26 series premiere of Ride on Hallmark.
It takes place on a bucolic but cash-strapped ranch that’s operated by a widowed parent who loses a beloved family member in the premiere episode — all while everyone looks straight-up sexy in their Wranglers and cowboy boots.
But that’s where the similarities to Yellowstone end for Hallmark’s Ride, insists Sherri Cooper-Landsman, who showruns the new drama about a rodeo dynasty with Rebecca Boss and Chris Masi (Our Kind of People).
“For me, it was just this beautiful ranch setting with a family going through stuff that a family goes through,” Cooper-Landsman tells Deadline of Ride. “And to be honest, I hadn’t even watched Yellowstone, so I did not even think about that. It just was this beautiful setting and a worlds that Becky [Rebecca] really knew so well.
