Hyrum was the youngest of eleven children and the first in his family to attend and graduate university. He began making short films on the farm when he was eight years old. To better edit those films he built his first computer from parts a few months later. As an early teen he dropped out of school, continued making short films, frequented skate parks, and played World of Warcraft among other games religiously. At age fifteen he was accepted into an accelerated academic program in high school where he completed all four years of coursework in one academic year. He graduated with his diploma and high honors at age sixteen.
Anxious to continue his passion for filmmaking he was accepted and began attending university just weeks after turning seventeen. Two years later he had completed both his associate and bachelor programs in film and theatre, along with 22 production credits with companies like HBO and Sundance, competing with over two thousand shows he'd taken 1st national in co-set design, 3rd national in cinematography, and 1st regional in props, he had completed an internship in London, and spent time during his junior summer in L.A. He was the first undergraduate allowed to do grant writing for his university and was a guest speaker at conferences all over the Midwest on script and screenplay analysis by his nineteenth birthday.
Following graduation he completed an internship in film management and production with Arrowstorm Entertainment. In the years since he has worked on many feature films, TV series, commercials, novels, screenplays, web design, and company sales and branding. He resides in Utah with his wife and three children where he continues working in film, consulting screenwriters, authors and business owners.
