Ryan studied acting on the GI Bill, along with set construction, becoming a skilled carpenter. He booked Blue Bloods during his first year of school. He then went on to shoot a string of television shows and action films, leading to his breakout role in the film Blowback, opposite Randy Couture and Cam Gigandet.
Ryan partnered with Hedley Harlan as a director for the film trailer, Mincemeat Manor, using his tenacity and organizational skills from the Army and his now twenty years of music training to co-create the score. The Mincemeat Manor Trailer has won laurels in several festivals, including Oxford, Lighthouse International, Edmonton, Niagara and The International Independent Film Awards.
As an actor, Ryan has appeared in Law & Order, FBI, Blue Bloods, The Blacklist, as well as a string of action and horror films, using his combat training from the Army to do most of his own stunts, stunt driving and weapons handling. He is known for playing heroes, rockers, psychos and anyone else with a lot of soul and a wavering grasp of reality.
