Director Advait Chandan, who helmed the ambitious remake of ‘Forrest Gump’ – the Aamir Khan-starrer ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, has directed the music video of the soulful track, ‘Preet’ sung by Dhvani Bhanushali.

The director shared that he wanted to portray Dhvani’s talent as an actor and he was pleasantly surprised by her performance and called her a ‘natural performer’.

Advait said: “She had done glamorous videos, dance videos before with Preet. I wanted to showcase her talent as an actor. She’s a very natural performer, very comfortable in her skin. I wanted to bring out those qualities in a music video. She’s so easy to work with, as an actor she’s very talented and has a very bright future.”

Singer Dhvani Bhanushali released her new single ‘Ek Tarfa’, on Wednesday. In the love ballad composed by Gaurav Chatterji with lyrics by Sandeep Gaur, the singer adds a certain vulnerability and softness with her vocals.

The track, which tells the story of unrequited love, has a prominent flute section which somewhat resembles that of ‘Aaoge Jab Tum’ from ‘Jab We Met’.

Mumbai, Dec 9 (Ians) Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has been named the number one Asian celebrity on the planet for 2020. Sonu topped the 50 Asian Celebrities In The World list, published by the UK-based Eastern Eye newspaper.

The actor has been honoured for his philanthropic activities during the Covid-induced lockdown, especially helping migrant workers reach their hometowns.

Talking about the same, Sonu Sood shared: "Thank you, Eastern Eye, for recognising my efforts. As the pandemic broke, I realised it was my duty to help my countrymen, it was an instinct that came from within. Mumbai, Nov 17 (Ians) Singer Dhvani Bhanushali has dedicated her new reprised version of Tum hi aana to everyone who believes in love.

The song had originally featured in the 2019 film Marjaavaan, starring Sidharth Malhotra, Tara Sutaria, Riteish Deshmukh, and Rakul Preet Singh.

Sharing a video of her singing the reprised version, she wrote on Instagram: "A song that touched so many hearts - #TumHiAana from the film #Marjaavaan. Dhvani took to Instagram on Sunday to share the big news. An emotional Dhvani Bhanushali was seen thanking people for making the song a success. She captioned the video, "'Vaaste' has changed my life! Thankyou to one and all #vaaste #onebillion."

Sharing his excitement, Tanishk said: "I am humbled by all the love that I've been receiving. 'Vaaste' holds a very special place in my heart."

"We had set out to create a song that could resonate with the youth of the country but the way it has gone on to break records is overwhelming," he added.

Earlier, the romantic track was named the top song of 2019 by International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (Ifpi), an organisation that represents the recorded music industry worldwide.

Dhvani Bhanushali has won a lot of fans as a singer in less than two years since her launch in 2018. Next year, she promises to show a different side to her creativity as a musical artiste.

Be it Bollywood songs or pop singles like "Dilbar" or "Vaaste" respectively, she has delivered many hit. The lockdown, she says, gave her an opportunity to polish her skills as an overall artiste.

"We were at home spending time with family. I was focusing on 'riyaaz' and learning music. I started learning music late. So, it was a good time for me to focus on the learning part, and I was trying to make songs. Hopefully, next year we will have something," Dhvani told Ians.

Asked if she got a chance to write her own songs too, she said: "I was working on it. That's one side of me that I haven't shown yet.

YouTube revealed its top videos of the year on Thursday, with Lil Nas X and Shawn Mendes being two of the standout performers when it came to music videos, while established creators like PewDiePie also made an appearance on its year-end roundup.

Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” which featured Billy Ray Cyrus, was the most-viewed music video in the U.S. this year. The video for the mammoth single, which was uploaded in early April, has racked up nearly 470 million views so far — even though it only includes the song and artwork of two horses galloping; the live-action music video that came out the following month, pulling in about 400 million views, ended up being the fifth most-viewed U.S. music video of the year.

Internationally, though, the song was “only” the fifth most-liked music video of the year, falling behind Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, who grabbed the top slot with “Senorita.
