The opening scenes were funny, and the premise was a pretty good one, and there were a few funny moments in it, but ultimately something was missing.
It's ten years since it started on The BBC, and it has been on the decline, but for me, there is definitely some mileage in the show, however, what we really don't need are any more Christmas specials, why not a few episodes in The Summer, the efforts to add turkey and tinsel feel forced somehow. We all knew the tree moment would arrive, I went and made a coffee.
What the show has managed to do so well previously, is capture the mood, and get where people are at, this was way off, we needed a break from Covid, this reminded us all along the way.
I'm watching this for the first time on New year's Day, that says it all, 5/10.
