The front view of Mercedes shows no sign of previous damage from the collision with the dry stone dyke.

During the car chase in Ireland, the white Mercedes skids sideways into a pile of dark brown stones or bricks. The right side of the car has damage before impact where it had none in a previous shot, especially the right rear, and tire marks on the road suggest a previous take of the same shot.

In the first office meeting, the telephone handset cord switches from the left to right side of the cradle between shots.

After swimming underwater in his coat and tie, Rearden emerges in the next sequence completely intact, clothes dry, and tie in place.

Rearden (Paul Newman) is swimming in a harbor in Malta. There obviously was no shot of Newman going back toward the yacht as they needed, so they ran a segment of film backwards. (His movement and wake left in the water are dead giveaways.)

When the small plane lands at the airfield, it makes a tire squeal characteristic of landing on tarmac, but it's a grass runway.
