Back in the day, you could just throw any old bullshit into the end credits of a movie. In fact, filmmakers were fond of splicing the funniest bad takes into the infinite scroll, because why not? It was just some noise to play while people filed out of the theater. Now, we’re all used to hanging around for the post-credits scene, so we pay more attention, and it turns out some end credit choices are completely unhinged.

“So I watched Edge of Tomorrow yesterday for the first time,” Redditor TheAlmightyTapir told r/Movies, “and it was a good action/sci-fi movie. I liked it. And the ending was nice right up until the credits kicked in with, ‘Iiiiiiiiii Need To Knoooooow Now!’ It was incredibly jarring, and it got me thinking if there are any other movies out with an incredibly poor/random choice of music in the end credits.

Some cliche somewhere said that ‘a picture is worth a thousand words.’ This has proven to be the case for me and especially when it comes to fan art. I have always sought out great fan art and have wanted to share it with as many people as possible. “Awesome Art We’ve Found Around The Net” is the outlet for that passion. As the final stretch of October sets in, there is still plenty of time to catch favorite flicks, spooky, witchy, scary or cozy in the season of pumpkins, monsters and more. Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween has several classic films airing all month long such as Casper (1995), Arachnophobia, Goosebumps, Edward Scissorhands, etc.

Spooky season is upon us and, for a great many movie lovers out there, that means it's time to binge some horror. In the age of streaming, there are countless rabbit holes one could fall down in the quest to find the perfect horror movie to watch. “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” is shining the spotlight on a completely separate murder – one that happened a decade before the brothers’ trial.

Episode 7 of the series – titled “Showtime” – features a long dinner party scene where Nathan Lane’s character Dominick Dunne breaks down the Menendez case as he sees it through the context of having sat through his own daughter’s murder trial. It’s also a trial that earned significant media attention a decade earlier.

Dunne’s daughter Dominique was a 22-year-old rising actor fresh off a lead role in 1982’s “Poltergeist.” She was strangled to death by her ex-boyfriend John Sweeney after their breakup on Oct. 30, 1982. Sweeney confessed to the murder – and an attempt to kill himself after – when the police arrived on the scene.

Here’s what we know about Dominique, the night she was killed, and where Sweeney and the rest of her family is today.

“Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” is now on Netflix, bringing renewed interest to the case of the two brothers who murdered their parents. But as with any true crime series, there’s interest in knowing what the real people involved are up to now.

Erik and Lyle Menendez have been in prison since their 1996 conviction in the murder of their parents. As a note at the end of a series tells us, “Lyle and Erik Menendez maintain the allegation of sexual abuse at the hands of their mother and father. Barely a decade out of film school, Gallic twins Ludovic and Zoran Boukherma are primed for an international splash once their fourth feature, “And Their Children After Them,” premieres in competition at this year’s Venice Film Festival.

“The Babadook” might be about a demon that pops out of a children’s book, but no recent film does a better job of capturing the acute reality of living with grief. “Cloverfield” follows a gaggle of pre-Instagram model millennials as they’re chased around Manhattan by a bug-eyed colossus, but few of the somber post-9/11 dramas do a better job of distilling the heartsick chaos of watching your hometown try to make sense of a senseless attack. “The Village” is...

The dystopian sci-fi film "Logan's Run" is set in a supposedly idyllic future society where residents above 30 mysteriously disappear. The hedonistic metropolis is enclosed by a dome, and those who choose to explore the world outside — and the secrets that it holds — are labeled "runners." Michael York stars in the film as the titular protagonist, an undercover police officer who infiltrates the runners only to find that he, too, opposes the laws that he once worked to uphold and helps them lead an uprising.

"Logan's Run" was nominated for its cinematography and set decoration in the 1977 Academy Awards. It even received a special achievement award for its visual effects. On the surface, horror and romance are two genres that shouldn’t mix well together; one exposes the worst and most disturbing cruelty humanity has to offer, while the other is meant to show the most tender and beautiful feelings we have. But as long as horror has been a genre, it’s been mixed with romance to frequently stellar results. Some of the earliest horror monsters, like vampires, are inherently sexual beings: their powers clear metaphors for intercourse and their ability to allure and entice humans with their beauty a key part of what makes them dangerous. No icebreakers are needed when it comes to kicking off conversation with Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody and first-time feature filmmaker Zelda Williams, who arrived for a mid-week, Midtown-located breakfast with IndieWire with nothing but smiles. Their first collaboration, ’80s-set horror comedy “Lisa Frankenstein,” blends together their seemingly mutual obsessions, and is ripe for fun conversation.

The third and final season of “The Dead Hour” joins the previous two seasons on Screambox February 2. A mysterious late-night radio host delves into a different horrifying tale in each of the horror anthology’s 12 binge-worthy episodes.

Screambox Original wrestling-fueled horror-comedy Here for Blood invades select theaters and Screambox on February 9. Shawn Roberts (Resident Evil franchise) stars in the gory throwback to video store staples of the ‘80s and ’90s alongside the voice of Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider.

WWE had caught up with Hollywood, where a similar wave of chlorine had washed over mainstream cinema and sanitized dozens of projects including "Live Free or Die Hard," "Terminator Salvation," "Hancock," and "Fired Up." These films and many more were stripped of violence, swearing, and sexuality in order for the MPA to grant the studios a PG-13 rating and access to the lucrative teen demographic. Such money-mindedness proved bad enough for the action and comedy genres, but it was arguably even worse for horror filmmakers, who risked self-censorship unless they worked within the thriving "torture porn" fare of "Saw" and "Hostel.

"Frasier" had a bevy of guest stars throughout its original eleven-season run, but you might not recognize some of them on first watch. That's because many of the most famous actors to appear on the beloved sitcom did so in voice only, calling into psychologist Frasier Crane's (Kelsey Grammer) Seattle radio show for all manner of life advice. Casting a celebrity who viewers never actually see felt like a new gimmick when the series first premiered, and it's frankly still a rarity now.

In an oral history of the series published by Vanity Fair in 2018, series co-creators Peter Casey and David Lee, casting director Jeff Greenberg, and director Jimmy Burrows talked about how the call-in guest stars idea originated, who showed up on the other end of the line, and which celebrities turned "Frasier" down. "Early on, someone suggested getting guest voices," Casey recalled. "Kelsey agreed, as long as they weren't goofy calls.

Writer/director John Landis always intended to use Sam Cooke’s version of the song “Blue Moon” over the famous transformation scene in his 1981 classic An American Werewolf in London (watch it Here), and he let the film’s composer Elmer Bernstein know that up front. He chose “Blue Moon” because he wanted the scene to come off as being sad and painful rather than scary – but while putting together the score for the film, Bernstein decided to go ahead and compose some of his own music for the transformation scene. Just in case. Landis ended up rejecting Bernstein’s transformation music and stuck with “Blue Moon”… but now filmmaker Paul Davis, who generously shared 35 minutes of rare outtake footage from The Exorcist on Halloween this year, has put Bernstein’s rejected music over the transformation scene and uploaded it to YouTube. Remember those never-before-seen outtakes from William Friedkin’s The Exorcist that we shared with you for Halloween? That rare footage came courtesy of Paul Davis, who directed Beware the Moon: Remembering An American Werewolf in London as well as the films The Body and Uncanny Annie (both part of Blumhouse’s anthology series “Into the Dark”).

You could almost smell the chicken fajitas steaming off of the wild twist on Nirvana‘s “Lithium” in Peacock‘s horror-com Wolf Like Me Season 2.

Once again, creator Abe Forsythe and music supervisor Andrew Kotatko made musical magic with their own rendition of “Lithium” with a Mexican flavor.

“That involved me getting permission from Courtney Love. And not only to just use the original track. It’s being able to turn it into what it is in the show,” Forsythe told Showbiz Cheat Sheet.

In Wolf Like Me, Season 2, Mary (Isla Fisher) goes into labor and Gary’s (Josh Gadd) daughter Emma knows hearing “Lithium” would comfort her during an especially long and painful labor. The song reminded Mary of her dead husband (who she likely killed while transformed into a werewolf) so Emma found a version that would at least make Mary laugh.

During season 2, police begin to investigate the deaths of two men, who happened to be the same men who tried to attack Gary (Josh Gad) and Emma (Ariel Donoghue) in the car. Werewolf Mary (Isla Fisher) shreds both men but then leaves Gary and Emma untouched.

What we think of today as summer blockbuster movies arguably began in 1975 with Jaws.

In the fall of 1983, one could already make a plausible case for Martin Scorsese as one of the greatest living American filmmakers based on “Mean Streets,” “Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore,” “Taxi Driver,” “Italianamerican,” “The Last Waltz,” “Raging Bull,” and “The King of Comedy.” But as the holidays approached, Scorsese’s career was in trouble.

After establishing himself with a series of lean, mean masterpieces shot on tight schedules, the director’s productions had grown in a scale disproportionate to their financial success; “New York, New York,” “Raging Bull,” and “The King of Comedy” had all taken around a hundred days to shoot, and while all three are acknowledged as classics today, they received mixed reviews at the time and “Raging Bull” barely broke even at the box office — “New York, New York” and “The King of Comedy” were flat-out flops.

Over forty years on from its original release, John Landis’ An American Werewolf in London remains one of the best werewolf movies of all time, and Vice Press is celebrating the 1981 horror classic with a limited edition poster release on Thursday, August 17.

“There have been plenty of amazing posters released for the movie over the years, but none as iconic as the original 1981 International One Sheet. 20 years before Disney's latest attempt at a Haunted Mansion movie, the studio tried and failed to recreate the magic of the theme park ride.

This July, Disney is releasing "Haunted Mansion," an adaptation of one of its most beloved theme park attractions. The company has been trying to get this project off the ground for well over 13 years, with Guillermo del Toro, a Haunted Mansion superfan, at one point attached to direct. Justin Simien of "Dear White People" and "Bad Hair" fame is helming the finished project, and the comedy horror features a starry cast including Lakeith Stanfield, Rosario Dawson, and recent Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis. With a reported budget of over $157 million, it's a risky bet for Disney, which has seen a handful of commercial disappointments this year, including "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny."
