Julee Cruise played Lulu White and she looked like she had a grand time singing and dancing in this stage adaptation. You wouldn't know her if you weren't looking since she had black hair or a wig. Now I don't know much about the children's story. A cat named Puss recruits a guy and they go on a journey to New Orleans, Louisiana for Mardi Gras. Lulu White is a club owner. It is interesting that Julee spent three years or seasons there honing the craft of musical theatre. The cast are seasoned performers in the Twin Cities. Unless you're familiar with the scene, you won't know the cast and crew. The costumes are fine for the time period. The production design is satisfactory.

I have only seen this movie like a hundred times..but it is one of the best adaptations of the classic story of Puss In Boots ever!!!
I love Magnolia and her French...I love Puss and his "only a cat" and I love Murlis and his dopey brothers!!!
The Acting is Fantastic and the Music is Memorable and easy to sing along with!
Sadly my copy of this movie is deterating...through the passing years so the film quality is not a good as it use to be.

I've seen and heard many versions of fairy tales, but I doubt there are any as unique as this. To give a Louisiana twist to such a classic story, though very strange was pretty clever (although I seriously doubt that anybody celebrates Mardi Gras like that anymore). Despite the unusualness of the whole story, the new setting made it seem all the more enjoyable and fun to watch. The jazzy music also helped quite a bit.
