As the film was initially banned in Finland for grounds of violence and that it could harm Finland's foreign relations, this meant severe financial hardship to producer Markus Selin as the distribution deals were drawn out so that the Finnish co-producers would get their income only from the Finnish sales.
The last film banned in Finland due to a threat to foreign relations (with Soviet Union).
Finnish actors Ismo Kallio and Kirsti Wallasvaara were announced for the film in September 1984 (then known as "Wild Force", with actor Chuck Norris still attached), but only Kallio ended up in the film. At the time, it was also reported that Aaron Norris visited the village set in Finnish Lapland and trained the local stuntmen.
