Nina Van Horn (Wendie Malick) carries around a Kate Spade bag. Kate was David Spade's sister-in-law. She also guest starred in the season 6 episode "Blush Gets Some Therapy"
The character of Dennis Finch was added after the original pilot was rejected in favor of Suddenly Susan (1996). He replaced a far more flamboyant assistant named Connor.
The name "Baxter" was a running joke through out the series. Anytime an off-camera staff member was mentioned, his name was Baxter no matter what department was mentioned.
The view from Maya's (Laura San Giacomo's) office is of Brooklyn Heights looking from Lower Manhattan.
All five main cast members appeared in each and every episode of the series. Making it one of a handful of long-running series with this status, along with The Golden Girls (1985) and Friends (1994).
