"Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn" (Or whatever you want to call it) is the 12th DBZ movie, (Depending on whether you count the specials or Video Games). It follows the story of the creation of a new more powerful monster, made up of all the negative souls of the afterlife. With that barrier down all the dead rise up and cause havoc. And Goku and Vegeta must work together to beat this new monster, Janenba.
This movie marked a new high point of quality for the DBZ movies. It is my favorite of all the animation styles. Some people may prefer "Super Broly", "Battle of Gods" or "Super- Superhero", but for me, this is the best these movies have ever looked. The fight scene between Janenba, Goku and Vegeta is full of great moments.
The B-Plot that they cut to also has some good moments. Including Goten and Trunks taking down a particular evil villain who got released from Hell.
On the downside, Janeba doesn't have much of a personality, he is just the big bad guy the heroes have to fight. Janenba follows too many of the same plot points that Majin Buu follows in the series.
The way the fight ends is also pretty underwhelming, it just ends too quickly. And perhaps they spend too much time on the fighting of evil henchman from Hell, that could have been spent on the more plot relevant stuff.
Nerd rant stuff: Shenron is completely wasted in this story and where was Cell?
If only they could fuse the best elements of this movie, with the best elements of another DBZ movie. Other than those gripes, this is an all-around good time. I highly recommend it to any DBZ fan.
