The film kept getting endlessly delayed. This caused Chandrachur Singh to speak out against Ashok Ghai in the press. Chandrachur stated Ahok was confused and disorientated thru out the making of the film.

Ashok Ghar is Subhash Ghai's younger brother. He was involved in some of Subhash Ghai's films.
The trouble was about Ashok Ghai's Shyam Ghanshyam, two songs of which were composed by Tabun. When Ghai tossed Tabun out, he claimed the songs were the products of replacement Vishal Bharadwaj, though VB tacitly avoided comment on the matter. Then Hema let the cat out before a massive audience when she said that the song Aandhi Hai Jaandhi Hai which she had sung for Tabun in Shyam Ghanshyam would work wonders for her career.
Sham Ghansham is the first movie of Ashok Ghai as director.
