The film was delayed for 2 years due to Akshay Kumar's leg injury. Vimal Kumar blasted Akshay in the media saying he was lacking dedication and with the film being delayed he was losing interest in the project .
Raaj Kumar was the original choice for Amrish Puri's role But he insisted Anu Aggarwal be cast opposite him. Fearing that the audience would reject the casting, the director dropped Raaj Kumar from the film.
The hit song 'Haseena Gori Gori' sung by Udit Narayan & Alka Yagnik is copied from Shaggy & Ravon's 90's Reggae hit 'In The Summer Time'. The song "Adi Anarkali" from Ullathai Allitha, also sampled Shaggy's song.
The film had a theatrical release in Canada.
