Randy Savage reunited on-screen with Elizabeth after his match and made marriage plans with her shortly after. In reality, he had been married to Elizabeth for seven years up to this point and divorced her a year later.
Moving the event from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (an open air stadium ) to the Los Angeles Sports Arena (an indoor arena) proved to have an unforeseen advantage. Weather conditions that day turned out to be cold and rainy, which might have ruined the event had it been held outdoors, as originally planned.
During the opening moments of the Tag Team Championship match with the Hart Foundation and the Nasty Boys, a very young Macaulay Culkin appears in the audience, however, he is not immediately recognized by commentator Gorilla Monsoon. A few seconds later, Monsoon does quip of Culkin, "He doesn't want to be Home Alone (1990) with the Nasty Boys!"
