Tonight’s WWE Raw SuperShow comes from Laredo, Texas and the big storyline being hyped is Brock Lesnar’s answer to Triple H’s challenge for a match at WWE SummerSlam 2012. Brock won’t be on tonight’s show, instead it will likely be a pre-recorded message from Lesnar and/or his legal advisor Paul Heyman. Lesnar, who has a limited dates contract with the WWE, will return at the 1,o00th Raw episode and not before. Triple H is also not advertised for an appearance tonight.
Teddy Long is this week’s temporary manager of Raw and SmackDown, leading into the appointment of a full time replacement for John Laurinaitis on the 1,000th Raw. As Long is a face character, we can expect some fair contests tonight and probably another Alberto Del Rio vs Dolph Ziggler match to determine the number 1 contendership to Sheamus’ World Title at WWE No Way Out.

John Cena has promised to make a huge announcement on tonight’s WWE Raw SuperShow from Fort Wayne, Indiana. He tweeted earlier today;
“In Fort Wayne for #Raw tonight I have an announcement that will make history! Make sure to watch #Raw”
The tease is an interesting one as Cena has no clear direction in WWE storylines right now. After defeating Big Show in the Steel Cage Match at WWE No Way Out last week that ended his current feud with John Laurinaitis, the Raw General Manager was then fired by Vince McMahon. His final farewell took place on last week’s Raw, though Cena has still been wrestling Laurinaitis, Tensai and The Big Show in handicap matches on the weekend house shows. Unless WWE come up with some cock and bull story to get Laurinaitis back on television then Cena will need to move on to a fresh angle tonight.

Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio for the WWE World Heavyweight Title is likely to place at WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view on July 15th, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
WWE are trying again with the World Title match that was originally set to take place at WWE No Way Out this past Sunday. As we reported, Alberto Del Rio was pulled from the match because of a serious concussion he suffered on SmackDown. There were also some reports yesterday that Del Rio had threatened to quit the WWE recently which may have also played a part into him being dropped from the match.
In regards to why Del Rio was able to wrestle on WWE Raw the night after No Way Out, Dave Meltzer is reporting that Del Rio was actually cleared to wrestle a few days before the WWE No Way Out pay-per-view but by then the...

What Culture’s review of this past Sunday’s WWE No Way Out pay-per-view that featured four title matches, three unannounced matches and a firing…
World Heavyweight Championship: Dolph Ziggler vs Sheamus – World Heavyweight Championship Match
The opening match of the show consisted of the World Heavyweight Title being defended which is a sad indictment of the current WWE product. The match itself was very good however, Ziggler looked strong and competitive throughout, getting in some good moves and while Sheamus reigned victorious with a clean win, Ziggler managed to show how over with the fans he really is (Ziggler chants continuously echoed the arena).
The action was intense and with Dolph getting a lot of time to work over Sheamus, he was made to look like a serious contender for the World Heavyweight Title. It was a nice touch to the beginning of the match where they teased a Wrestlemania replay,...

Alberto Del Rio had a dispute with senior WWE management recently and he threatened to quit the company, according to F4WOnline.com.
Their sources in the WWE claim that Del Rio has become so frustrated with his role in the company and his current contract that he has been contemplating quitting. It is said that after speaking his mind to WWE officials a couple of weeks ago, he threatened to walk out on American wrestling.
It has been well documented that WWE were unhappy with how Alberto Del Rio’s two reigns as WWE Champion went last year. Vince McMahon hand picked Del Rio to become the big star of 2011, having him win the Royal Rumble in January and become a main event player who eventually won the gold in the summer but McMahon’s criticisms of Del Rio’s performances, particularly in his lack of aggression and playing...

WWE has announced that Brock Lesnar’s “camp” will respond tonight on Raw to Triple H’s challenge for a match at WWE SummerSlam 2012. As promised, Hhh appeared at last night’s WWE No Way Out pay-per-view and cut a promo on Lesnar addressing the attack from a month back when the former Ufc and WWE Heavyweight Champion “broke the arm” of The Game.
We can probably expect that Brock Lesnar himself won’t be appearing on tonight’s show as he isn’t expected back int the WWE fold until at least the 1,00th episode of Raw in late July. Lesnar is only on a limited contract at the company and WWE are trying to save as many dates for him as possible to do a program at WrestleMania 29 next year, probably against The Undertaker.

Matt Striker and Scott Stanford kick off the WWE No Way Out pre-show hyping up the card live from the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Backstage we see Primo, Epcio and Rosa Mendes arguing with Abraham Washington. They want to know when they are going to get their WWE Tag Team Title shot. Aw says he has placed them in a fatal four-way match for the number 1 contendership for the tag titles and this will put them in a great spotlight for the gold. The Usos vs Primo & Epico vs Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel vs Titus O’Neil & Darren Young is set for the pay-per-view later.

WWE No Way Out returns to WWE’s PPV calendar tonight with an action packed card that all takes place from the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. As WWE have liked to remind us, the event takes place just a small way away from the MetLife Stadium where next year’s WrestleMania 29 takes place from April 7th, 2013.
There are several questions going into tonight’s pay-per-view which all have interesting ramifications for future storylines. Will John Cena or John Laurinaitis be fired after the outcome of the Steel Cage main event between Big Show vs Cena? Who will Aj Lee align herself with tonight in the WWE Title three-way between Cm Punk, Daniel Bryan and Kane? Will WWE actually have the faith to properly push Dolph Ziggler and have him win the World Title tonight against Sheamus? And perhaps most importantly of all, who will win the Tuxedo...

We were all quite excited for the upcoming WWE No Way Out PPV here at WhatCulture! Daniel Bryan challenging Cm Punk for the second time on a globally televised WWE PPV was worth coughing up cash for on it’s own – it didn’t matter who else was involved over the rest of the card – then they threw Kane into the mix.
Sure, Kane has been entertaining, and the Aj/Kane love story is intriguing, but there really wasn’t any need to spoil a perfect title match by involving a near 7 foot tall, lumbering powerhouse with zero finesse and only a tenth of the ability of his opponents. That’s when the weakness of the whole card became horrendously evident, but of course we’ll sit through it so that you don’t have to. Results will be posted on here as they happen. But in the meantime here...

The current John Laurinaitis and Vince McMahon storyline could end up merged with the Triple H and Brock Lesnar feud at WWE SummerSlam.
F4WOnline.com reports that one idea WWE creative has, and it does seem pretty clear from the current storylines that this is the current direction, that Vince McMahon will fire Laurinaitis at Sunday’s WWE No Way Out pay-per-view when John Cena defeats The Big Show. From there, the storyline would play out that Laurinaitis would return soon later with Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman and possibly Big Show as a stable, thanks to some help from the WWE Board of Directors.
Vince McMahon would then side with his son-in-law Triple H and perhaps the ownership of the WWE would be on the line when the expected Triple H vs Brock Lesnar match happens at WWE SummerSlam 2012 in August. McMahon would be in Hhh’s corner with Laurinaitis in Lesnar’s.

WWE announced today that United States Champion Santino Marella had challenged Ricardo Rodriguez to a Tuxedo Match that has been accepted for Sunday’s WWE No Way Out pay-per-view.
The match will be non-title bout and WWE.com announced the match like this;
“Described by Marella as “one of the most electrifying matches in sports-entertainment,” Tuxedo Matches require both competitors to enter the fray in full penguin suits. The objective is to strip the other man of his outfit. For a rivalry that has featured plenty of laughs and more than a tinge of humiliation, the Tuxedo Match is a wholly appropriate venue for Marella and Rodriguez to settle the score”.
So the match is basically the male wrestling version of an Evening Gown Match. It will of course be the comedy entertainment bout of the night and hopefully WWE will have a place for Howard Finkel, in a signature tuxedo,...

This past week on Monday Night Raw, Dolph Ziggler reigned victorious in a Fatal Four Way Elimination match that took place to determine a new number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship. He replaes Alberto Del Rio who sustained a concussion at last weeks Smackdown tapings and will face Sheamus at WWE No Way Out this Sunday.
The question is, will WWE be gutsy enough to pull the trigger on Ziggler actually winning the belt?
Common sense insists that Ziggler has no chance of winning the title at No Way Out. He was never scheduled to be in the match with WWE having always intended for the bout to consist of Del Rio vs Sheamus. Ziggler had never even been a thought in the WWE’s creative minds, therefore it would make perfect sense for Sheamus to retain the title and continue his feud with Alberto once the Mexican...

Triple H has replaced John Laurinaitis as the Executive Vice President of Talent Relations on WWE’s corporate website, making it official that Hhh (listed under his real name Paul Levesque) has taken over his duties.
The change had actually been made some time ago and Laurinaitis had been working under Triple H for a while as Hhh hired Jane Geddes as the new Vice President of Talent Relations (who has taken on making of the duties Laurinaitis had been doing), and Canyon Cemen as the head of Talent Development. Both Geddes and Cemen now report directly to Triple H according to Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
As Laurinaitis had become a regular on-air character, he has had many of his back office duties greatly reduced. The expectation now is that Laurinaitis’ job will be changed further as Triple H stamps his authority in his new role and puts his own people in key positions.

As expected, Dolph Ziggler was the superstar chosen to replace the injured Alberto Del Rio who had to pull out of Sunday’s WWE No Way Out pay-per-view World Title match against Sheamus due to a “serious concussion” he suffered on last week’s SmackDown.

Last night’s WWE Raw SuperShow from the Xl Center in Hartford, Connecticut.
John Laurinaitis comes down to start the bumper packed three-hour Raw show and is about to introduce himself when Vince McMahon’s No Chance music plays and he gets a big pop from the crowd.
Vince gets in the ring and says he won’t shake Johnny’s hand because he doesn’t know where he has been. He wants to get right to the job evaluation and he asks Laurinaitis why he should be spared from being fired. Laurinaitis says two words – people power. He says he fumbles his words but he listens to people and he empowers them and they love him for it.
Vince asks the fans if they love Laurinaitis and the response isn’t good. A “fire Johnny” chant breaks out in the crowd as he attempts to suck up to Vince.

As of yesterday morning, Vince McMahon was deciding on two different scripts for tonight’s bulky three-hour Raw SuperShow from the Xl Center in Hartford, Connecticut. F4WOnline.com reports that one of the scripts featured a lot of McMahon segments whilst the other barely featured him outside of the opening segment that has already been confirmed involving a job performance evaluation of John Laurinaitis.
There’s been great speculation tonight that Laurinaitis will be the latest name inducted into McMahon’s “Kiss My Ass” club tonight and as WWE are so desperate for ratings after an horrific couple of weeks, they may go for an elaborate firing angle and the hiring of a new General Manager.
WWE have neither Brock Lesnar or Triple H advertised for tonight’s show. The next step in that angle is expected to be at WWE No Way Out pay-per-view event next Sunday when Hhh “addresses” the Lesnar situation.

In a follow-up to our earlier story on Alberto Del Rio, a WWE source has told sports blog Corey Unfiltered that Del Rio’s concussion suffered at Tuesday night’s SmackDown tapings was a “serious” one. The injury came when Sheamus slammed Del Rio’s head against the metal WWE logo and WWE officials are concerned he won’t get medical clearance in time for next Sunday’s WWE No Way Out pay-per-view event.

WWE officials fear that Alberto Del Rio suffered a concussion during Tuesday night’s SmackDown tapings in Columbia, South Carolina. With concerns that Del Rio still hasn’t recovered fully from surgery on the groin tear he suffered last night, WWE made the decision to pull Del Rio out of last night’s SmackDown live event in Salisbury, Maryland.
Del Rio’s concussion likely came when Sheamus slammed Del Rio’s head against the metal WWE logo on the show. He is now a big doubt for the June 17th WWE No Way Out pay-per-view where he is currently set to compete against World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus in one of the title main events.

As we reported earlier, WWE creative have been told to treat the July 23rd 1,000th Raw as a major pay-per-view event. Last night’s WWE SmackDown spoiler results. The show will air Friday night on SyFy (Us) and on Sky Sports (UK).
Alberto Del Rio opens the show without Ricardo Rodriguez and recaps his attack on Sheamus on Raw. Sheamus’s music hits but out comes Rodriguez dressed like Sheamus instead, including white tights and a shirt to emulate “The Celtic Warrior’s” white skin. He does a really funny imitation of Sheamus as Del Rio interviews him. Then the real Sheamus comes out and they brawl up to the ramp.
Teddy Long then appears in a suit and with a big nametag. He says that John Laurinaitis has put the show is in his hands tonight and he’s booking Sheamus vs Kane in the main event and a Del Rio vs Great Khali match to open the show now…
1) Alberto Del Rio defeated The Great Khali with the cross arm-breaker for the submission.

SuperLuchas reports that Randy Orton’s future in the WWE is in major doubt after a “hostile” crisis meeting with Vince McMahon, Triple H and Kevin Dunn that was held at the WWE headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut on Friday.
Orton has served one week of his 60 day suspension from the WWE for his second failure of the WWE wellness policy and misses the next two pay-per-views WWE No Way Out and WWE Money in the Bank. The meeting was to discuss Orton’s suspension and reports are that the atmosphere at last Friday’s meeting was troubling and that a further decision regarding more punishment to Orton awaits. In fact, several WWE officials are lobbying for Orton to be fired as a cost-cutting measure.
PWInsider further reports that WWE officials again met with Orton over the weekend and there is a big possibility ‘The Viper” won’t be brought back...

Last night’s WWE Raw SuperShow results, live from the Bi Lo Center in Greenville, South Carolina.
The show opens with a video looking back at Big Show explaining his actions for turning hell.
John Cena’s music hits and he comes out to the ring for an interview with Michael Cole. Cole mentions to Cena that he has received two knockout punches from Show in 24 hours and Cole reminds us that he has taken out Brodus Clay, Alex Riley, Santino Marella, Zack Ryder, Kofi Kingston and R-Truth in the last week. Cole says none of this would have happened if he had supported Big Show in the first place. Cena jumps in and cuts a promo on John Laurinaitis saying he is power hungry. Cena says he is going to take out Show at WWE No Way Out pay-per-view.
Cole says Cena is self-centered and wrapped up in his own ego.

Current plans for WWE SummerSlam 2012 are for Cm Punk and The Big Show to face off in a WWE Championship match, according to F4WOnline.com. We would expect Punk to be the victor in the current feud with Daniel Bryan and retain his gold at WWE No Way Out in the Punk vs Bryan vs Kane triple threat match, with Bryan then moving on to feud with Kane over the summer, with Aj Lee also in the mix.
John Laurinaitis will likely also be involved in the Punk vs. Show feud and as we saw this week on Raw there was a re-ignition of the Punk/Laurinaitis problems with the unveiling of the WWE 13 video game front cover.
Punk and The Big Show previously fought at SummerSlam 2010 when Show defeated Punk, Joseph Mercury and Luke Gallows in a 3-on-1 Handicap Match.
Also previously spoken about for WWE SummerSlam were a Triple H vs.

With top flight Superstars Chris Jericho and Randy Orton both being suspended by WWE in the past week there is now an opening available at the top of the ladder for a semi-main eventer. Can Dolph Ziggler be the one to fill this opening and profit from others misfortune.
WWE has taken two major blows this week . Firstly Chris Jericho, whilst on Tour in Brazil, unintentionally broke the law during an in-ring segment with Cm Punk where he kicked the National flag, an act in which the Brazilian authorities did not look to kindly upon. To save himself a spell in jail Chris Jericho had to immediately apologise to the audience for his actions. The misled affair subsequently got him a 30 day suspension.
Then, only a few days removed from the Jericho incident WWE announced that they had suspended Randy Orton due to the second failing of their wellness policy.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Lord Tensai will get a complete overhaul and makeover as a character after being dubbed “a flop” by Vince McMahon.
Matt Bloom, the former A-Train and Albert returned to the WWE shortly after WWE WrestleMania 28 and was given the gimmick of a Japanese warrior, which played up the success Bloom had enjoyed overseas since he originally left the WWE in 2004.
Tensai was given a big push upon his reintroduction but the decisive moment for the character came when he failed to impress WWE officials in his pinfall victory over John Cena at the main event of the April 16th Raw SuperShow in London. Tensai’s victory was to eventually build to a Tensai vs Cena feud that would culminate in matches at WWE Over The Limit and WWE No Way Out pay-per-view events but that poor performance led to a change of plans which now...

WWE.com has announced that “The Viper” Randy Orton has been suspended for 60 days following his second violation of the WWE Talent Wellness policy. The suspension was effective as of Wednesday and he will now miss the next two months of WWE touring, which includes June’s WWE No Way Out pay-per-view and July’s WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view.
The official WWE website didn’t go into much detail and mentioned his suspension with the following;
Stamford, Conn. – In accordance with its Talent Wellness Program, WWE has suspended Randy Orton for 60 days effective today for his second violation of the company’s policy.
Failing the WWE Talent Wellness policy basically means he was taking a substance he shouldn’t have been, similarly the reason why Rey Mysterio is also currently suspended. WWE superstars are suspended 30 days for their first violation, 60 days for their second and usually the third suspension means they are fired.

During last night’s WWE SmackDown tapings, the WWE title match for next month’s WWE No Way Out pay-per-view was set.
Cm Punk will be defending his WWE Title against Daniel Bryan and Kane in a triple threat match.
WWE No Way Out comes from the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey on June 17th, 2012. There are currently two other matches scheduled for the card which is expected to be made up of mostly gimmick matches;
World Heavyweight Title Match
Alberto Del Rio vs. Sheamus
Steel Cage Match
Big Show vs. John Cena
Looking on the basis of current feuds we can most likely expect another WWE Intercontinental Title bout between Christian and Cody Rhodes.
There were also plans for a Randy Orton vs Chris Jericho match but since Jericho was suspended for thirty days last week, that match we expect to be off the cards.

Last night’s WWE Raw SuperShow results from the New Orleans Arena. Tonight’s Memorial Day show is dedicated to all the fallen soldiers.
Big Show opens the show coming down in a suit to a chorus of boos. He says he is just doing his job – smiling. Show says it was easy to make the crowd smile and he made a living at it. On Friday evening, WWE.com announced that Chris Jericho had been suspended for 30 days.
As we reported yesterday, WWE had suspended Jericho “indefinitely” for “desecrating” the Brazil national flag during the company’s first ever live event in the country. Jericho kicked the flag that had been thrown into the ring by a fan during an attempt to draw heat from the crowd but as desecrating the national flag is an offence in Brazil, he was spoken to by police and was nearly arrested before he apologised to the live crowd.
WWE.com updated their report on Jericho with the following statement;
“WWE Superstar Chris Jericho has been suspended for 30 days due to an irresponsible act of denigrating the Brazilian flag at a WWE live event in São Paulo on May 24.”
Jericho has been pulled from all live event appearances and replaced by Daniel Bryan for the main event WWE Title matches against Cm Punk.

Last night’s WWE Raw SuperShow results from the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia. The event took place just one night after WWE Over The Limit’s pay-per-view.
John Cena’s music hits and he opens the show, coming down to the ring with a serious look on his face. He congratulates John Laurinaitis on his win last night and the only explanation he can come up with for Big Show’s actions was that he had sold out. Cena says Show shouldn’t have worried as he would have been re-hired by whomever took over from Laurinaitis when he got fired.
Laurinaitis comes out in a handicap scooter with Eve Torres by his side. He gets to his feet with crutches and reveals he was sent to hospital last night because his injuries were so bad. He says if Cena or anyone else ever lays a hand on him they would be immediately fired.

WWE may switch the expected Brock Lesnar vs Triple H WWE SummerSlam match in August to June’s WWE No Way Out pay-per-view instead, according to F4WOnline.com.
Their sources within the WWE suggest that officials are “in a panic” over the Lesnar/Hhh storyline and that they are really concerned about how long they can keep the momentum and interest in the feud going without Lesnar making any appearances until late July, just weeks before SummerSlam.
Last week, WWE brought back Lesnar’s former on and off screen mentor Paul Heyman and thrusted him into the storyline as Lesnar’s “legal advisor” with the idea being that he could be the mouthpiece that would keep the feud going with Lesnar off TV because WWE don’t want to use up all his limited dates his contract. By moving Lesnar straight into a pay-per-view main event at WWE Extreme Rules...

Sheamus vs Alberto Del Rio vs Chris Jericho vs Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Title fatal four way match at WWE Over The Limit PPV was announced on last night’s edition of WWE Raw. The multi-man title match replaces Sheamus vs Del Rio for the World Title that was previously announced on SmackDown.
No indication as to why the match-up was changed just yet, but I’m guessing it might possibly be to prolong a feud between Chris Jericho and Randy Orton into a singles bout at June’s WWE No Way Out pay-per-view.
Also added to the pay-per-view card is a WWE Divas Title match between Layla (c) and Beth Phoenix. Phoenix has been due her Divas title match having been replaced at the WWE Extreme Rules PPV by Layla after Beth was injured.
Here’s the updated card for the event;

WWE delivered some big surprises during Sunday’s No Way Out pay-per-view event. I thought there was a chance that one of the World Titles would change hands in the Elimination Chamber match, but I don’t think anyone predicted that two new champions would emerge. Furthermore, anyone who claims they predicted that Edge would capture the World Hvt. Championship on Sunday is either lying or is a descendent of Nostradamus. Triple H wins the WWE Title in the Smackdown version of the Elimination Chamber match: This match actually opened the show. As if that wasn’t odd enough, Jeff Hardy pinned Edge less than five minutes, which guaranteed that a new WWE Champion would be crowned. Vladimir Kozlov and Big Show were eventually eliminated, leaving WWE’s top three babyfaces Hardy, Taker, and Triple H to battle it out for the briefly vacant WWE Title.
