As the novel coronavirus pandemic continues to keep people in self-isolation, Disney+ remains a source of at-home entertainment. And the streaming service has announced a number of titles that will be added in June.

Among them are beloved animated Disney films, including 1999's Tarzan and its 2005 sequel Tarzan II.

Fan-favorite live-action films are also being added to the roster, such as the 2010 film adaptation of Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.

Another book adaptation that is set to premiere on Disney+ in June is Artemis Fowl, based on Eoin Colfer's 2001 Ya novel.

It’s been ten years since the terrific Enchanted arrived in UK cinemas, just under two months after it premiered at the London Film Festival. The film made a star of Amy Adams, brought back 2D animation from Disney to the big screen, and has a songbook that sits happily alongside the top end of Disney work. Plus, the film remains a flat out family treat.

It may be a reboot of a remake, but that hasn.t slowed down the momentum on the upcoming Charlie.s Angels any. Though there aren.t any stars currently attached to the project, there is a director on board to usher it into theaters, Elizabeth Banks, and the film has taken another big step forward, hiring a writer to deliver the script. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Evan Spiliotopoulos will handle the writing duties on Charlie.s Angels. No stranger to big action flics, Spiliotopoulos most recently penned the script for the Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson-fronted Hercules in 2014. Sequels and spinoffs are all the rage on the big screen these days, but the news that Disney is moving forward with a Frozen 2 still comes as something of a surprise considering the studio has been reticent to pump out theatrically-released follow-ups to its biggest hits - only The Three Caballeros, The Rescuers Down Under, Fantasia 2000 and Winnie the Pooh are part of the Disney Animated Canon.

However, throughout the '90s and '00s Disney had a lucrative side-business in direct-to-video sequels that were turned around quickly and cheaply and made the studio a fast buck. Many execs felt that these cheapened the originals and John Lasseter put the brakes on them, although the recent Tinker Bell films (branching out from Peter Pan) have their roots in this release model.

With the dog days of summer finally upon us, it's good to find an excuse (any excuse) to dip out of the heat and into a coolly air-conditioned living room. And what better way to spend your time than by watching things on Netflix? Behold, a list of things that are new to Netflix in July.

There are a bunch of new Christmas movies on the streaming service, part of the company's "Christmas in July" program (things like "Bad Santa" and "The Nightmare Before Christmas"), as well as a handful of Disney classics (like "Tarzan" and "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids"). There are also, as always, newer films that you might have missed, but don't have to anymore -- everything from Paul Thomas Anderson's "The Master" (starring the late, great Philip Seymour Hoffman) to this year's "Wolf Creek 2," a high-octane Australian thriller that seriously doesn't disappoint.

With "Maleficent" having already amassed almost $200 million worldwide, it's no surprise that Disney would look to capitalize on its trend of revamping classic fairy tales in similar, live action fashion. (Keep in mind that they have "Cinderella" coming out next spring, starring Cate Blanchett, "The Jungle Book" is penciled in for October 2015, although we're honestly not sure how it's going to make that date, and an "Alice in Wonderland" sequel, again with Johnny Depp, earmarked for 2016.) Word emerged over a year ago that Disney was planning a live-action version of their beloved "Beauty And The Beast," and they had tapped "Trance" writer Joe Ahearne to pen the script for what was then simply going to be called "The Beast." Jacki Weaver, Noah Taylor and Miriam Margolyes will lend their voices to Maya the Bee Movie, the first 3D animated feature from Flying Bark Productions.

Directed by Alexs Stadermann, the German/Australian co-production is based on the animated TV series inspired by the book The Adventures of Maya the Bee by Waldemar Bonsels, first published in 1912.

The screenplay by Fin Edquist follows the adventures of Maya, a little bee with a big personality, and the fellow denizens of her hive amid the long-standing conflict between bees and hornets.

Margolyes (Blackadder, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) voices the Queen. Weaver is voicing Buzzlina Von Beena, the hive's royal advisor, who hatches a plan to overthrow the Queen and drive out an invasion of hornets.

Animator and filmmaker Alexs Stadermann will direct 3D Australian-German film Maya the Bee.

He will work with producer Barbara Stephen and line producer Alexia Gates-Foale, reforming the core team which worked on The Woodlies television series and The Woodlies Movie special feature-length episode.

The Sherlock Holmes renaissance is officially in full swing. Paramount Pictures is planning to remake the classic 1985 film Young Sherlock Holmes. Christopher Columbus is producing the project and they are in talks with Disney DVD movie scribe Evan Spiliotopoulos to write the script for the movie. 

I loved watching this movie growing up, and it was the first movie to incorporate realistic CG animation with that awesome stained glass window Knight coming to life. The original film was produced by Steven Spielberg, directed by Barry Levinson, and written by Columbus. The story centered on Holmes and Watson after they meet at a British boarding school and stumble upon a series of mysterious deaths and murders.

According to The Wrap the new story will basically be the same thing. It follows "Sherlock Holmes and John Watson as they meet as teenagers in England, and embark on a series of sleuthing adventures."

Oh happy day! 2D cell animation is not dead, thanks in part to people like animator Robb Pratt. In a follow up to his massively viewed Superman Classic, the animator has a mix of styles on display, particularly the Paul Dini look mashed up again backgrounds that recall the old Fleischer stuff.You can bet I'll be contacting Mr. Pratt for a few words on his work soon. The big casting of director Quentin Tarantino's racially charged 'Django Unchained' seems to be over and done with. Jamie Foxx stars as Django, a freed slave who teams up with a bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz) in hopes of freeing his wife (Kerry Washington) from the grasp of a none-too-kindly plantation owner.
