The ending REALLY annoyed me.

A surly young lady is kidnapped and, surprisingly, her father and step-mother are worried and want to pay the ransom. Naturally, they contact the FBI and Erskine and his men work to crack the case.

The main kidnapper is a very high-strung guy who likely will kill the girl. His partner is a little weasel who is afraid...perhaps too afraid to buck his partner.

During the last few seasons of "The FBI", it was obvious SOMEONE told them to stop killing people. Before this, Erskine routinely killed about a half dozen evil-doers a season. But in season 8 and 9, NONE were killed despite many being shot. I mention this because "Ransom" is the dumbest example of this new edict for less violence. In the end, one of the baddies is about 20 feet from three agents and he tries to shoot them. ALL THREE open fire and he's just fine...just wounded and nothing more. In real life, law enforcement officers are taught to shoot to kill...but here it's shoot but NEVER kill...which just doesn't make sense. I normally ignore this dopey aspect of the final seasons but three at such close range...and he's only injured?! Crazy...and silly. Because of this, I have to knock off a point.
