I love the play and the movie is a faithful rendition of it. The acting is good, the music well chosen (Gregorian), costumes faithful to the time and the setting is lovely - springtime with a Gothic setting (if I'm not mistaken). As a teacher, I need to get students to understand the period of Morality plays (1485) in England and this films does just the trick and brings the text to life. The American accents don't bother too much...it makes it more today. The message of the play is important today as we depend so much on riches and comfort that we forget that death can enter into our lives without our expecting it. It's not a scary thought, but an important one to face.
