'Final Fantasy XV' is an open world action role-playing game set in the fantasy world of Eos. The main protagonist, Noctis, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Lucis, sets off on a road trip with his companions to wed his fiancé. While en-route, they learn that Lucis has been invaded, and must return to save their kingdom.

Played from a third-person perspective, the player will control the main character and his party to move around and explore the open world environment.

Characters can travel around in vehicles or on avian creatures called Chocobos.

The story narrative is progressed via non-interactive cinematic scenes as well as in-game sequences when main missions are completed.

The player can also complete optional side missions that involve taking photos, hunting, and fishing.

The party will meet and interact with other non-player characters during exploration, or encounter and engage in combat against enemies and wildlife creatures.
