A different cologne ad (released in between 2019/2020) sort of brought me here because there was this male model who looked exactly like Robert Pattinson and I wanted to know if its was him and next thing I know...Pattz actually had some extensive body of work being the face of Dior. This more recent commercial presents the good-looking actor with model Lana Zakocela in some greatly lit sets, romantic and appealing scenarios, loving glances et all. It's nice but that's it.
Selling the brand when it comes to perfume usually follows a typical trend of using of handsome males or gorgeous females to give us the notion their presence and their faces are fascinating to the point you cannot turn off your eyes to see them. Fine. Add to that equation the special formula they'll probably are wearing (not really, it's all a question of being it for the money and the prestige), then impressed viewers will fall for it. And when you have the striking features of former Edward Cullen now current Batman, the brand has all the tools to grab new costumers. Pattinson is not unfamiliar with the fashion world, he was a model way back in time though not much of a good one if you look/search for his campaings from the early 2000's - it's embarassing. But Hollywood and this fame thing made him a household name to viewers, who grew accostumed to his lovely face, amazing smile and excellent presence. Well, the ad works in that sense, the girl is nice too but without someone hugely famous it'd be just an almost forgettable ad.
Thumbs up to this because it's simple, safe and Pattz presence. Usually I tend to like ads that are longer, with a concept and if possible with great directors behind them as well (recent examples includes one from Prada directed by Roman Polanski and starring Ben Kingsley and Helena Bonham Carter; and one by Wes Anderson, can't remember the product). When you can make art out of the ordinary, sell the brand with a spectacular fashion and taste you have a more interesting way to feel interested by the product rather than just admiring beauty spectacles, mere lusty entertainment.
The other ads I've seen starring Pattinson are a little more edgier, longer and have Led Zeppelin "Whole Lotta Love" in the background. It's a plus. 8/10
