Jake Gyllenhaal is in negotiations for a role in sci-fi thriller “Source Code.”
The movie will be directed by David Bowie’s son Duncan Jones (”Moon”) from a script written by Ben Ripley (”The Watch”).
“Source Code” centers on a soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown commuter and is forced to live and relive a harrowing train bombing until he can determine who is responsible for it.
Shooting should start in early 2010.
Gyllenhaal is currently filming Ed Zwick’s “Love and Other Drugs” and will next be seen in Jim Sheridan’s drama “Brothers” alongside Natalie Portman and Tobey Maguire and Disney’s “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.”
Jones is currently writing the screenplay of the upcoming film “Mute,” which he will also direct.
