With the ending of Oshi no Ko, 2024 has officially become the year of the worst manga finales. Both Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia ended recently, but a majority of fans were not happy with either of the conclusions.
But while My Hero Academia and Oshi no Ko can be forgiven for their final chapters, Gege Akutami is still public enemy No. 1. If you are an avid follower of Jujutsu Kaisen, you would know exactly why the fandom is out for the author’s blood.

According to sources, the final volume of Oshi no Ko, which is volume 16, will include 24 additional pages. The 16th volume will be released on December 18, 2024. Despite the somewhat disappointing ending of the series, at least Aka Akasaka has decided to give fans some additional pages worth of content.

Jujutsu Kaisen is immensely action-heavy with swift kicks and weapon mastery that makes the anime so enticing. From Nanami’s Black Flash to Gojo’s quick punches, Mappa and Gege Akutami really know how to showcase action sequences smoothly. What makes the anime even more convincing is how even their voice actors love martial arts just like their characters, particularly Adam McArthur, the English voice actor for the main protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuji Itadori.

The simple but freakishly strong main protagonist has some of the best action sequences in the anime and there’s only more to come once the Culling Game Arc commences. Many people try to imitate the moves he does, especially his iconic triple kick. Yuji Itadori is undeniably a force of nature in Jujutsu Kaisen even before the revelation of his heritage. Spoiler Alert !!!Spoilers ahead for episode 7 of Dandadan!
We all know Dandadan for the eccentricities and quirky nature of it. The dialogue is witty and funny with exciting action and interesting supernatural entities to explore. So far, in the anime, it has reached the Acrobatic Silky Arc and episode 7 reached a devastating climax for the titular yokai, a huge 180 for the nature of Dandadan. From the artwork to the backstory, there wasn’t a thing episode 7 hadn’t nailed and the audience (and Momo) couldn’t hold back their tears even if they tried.

Jujutsu Kaisen ended this year and it has become many fans’ worst nightmare. However, having a fandom as active as Jjk, moreover enraged, wouldn’t have been easy for Gege Akutami either. When Death Note ended in 2006, Tsugumi Ohba, the creator of the series, was probably in the same situation as Akutami is in now.

However, one rule both creators have followed throughout their careers has probably helped them after the questionable endings of their respective series. It also highlights a huge problem with how fans of popular anime-manga series engage with their favorite mangaka.

Aka Akasaka has contributed immensely to the seinen genre through his mangas. Apart from being bestsellers, both manga have impacted readers worldwide. But that is not all, considering the positive reception of his works.
Be it Kaguya-Sama: Love is War or Oshi no Ko, both works have stood out in terms of their storytelling. However, they have their fair share of pitfalls that had fans worried.

With his latest project, fans expressed their contention. This has mostly to do with his previous works, but there’s more to it.
Although promising, this raises several questions regarding its coherence. It also doesn’t negate their indelible ending, which left an incorrigible blot on their fame.
Aka Akasaka’s latest project has fans divided
From the Idol Industry to Love Wars, Aka Akasaka has a diverse portfolio of works. This is especially true with his contribution to the seinen genre.

While those who rarely engage with anime they’re often surprised by the diversity within the genre. For every big series about fighting titans, ninjas, or super-powered beings, there are smaller movies and shows that handle low-stakes life. Adapted from the popular manga series by Takashi Imashiro, Ghost Cat Anzu allows its silly characters room to stretch their legs. While it’s nice to have a mostly relaxing experience, a self-important title character upends the adaptation. Ghost Cat Anzu is mostly fine, but in an era with so many great anime films, it’s a frustrating miss.

Even decades later, the biggest competition for the new generation anime-manga series comes from the Big Three anime. For instance, the constant competition between Bleach and Jujutsu Kaisen or One Piece and Demon Slayer is mind-blowing. While Naruto has passed the baton to Boruto, it’s still much more influential than its successor. Some Jujutsu Kaisen fans are especially notorious for trying to prove that their favorite series is better than Bleach.

Spoiler Alert !!!This article contains spoilers for Dandadan episode 5.
Every single Dandadan episode has given me the opportunity to simply enjoy the essence of anime. Every episode has something new to offer while also keeping the story at the heart of everything. Whether it is about the action, the characters, the comedy, or the romance; there is no end to just how big a vision like that could go. Anime on the occult aren’t new with Jujutsu Kaisen and Death Note being in the lead.

The series started as a rager with its first premiere. It is considered one of the finest works in the seinen genre. With its recent developments, however, we may have spoken too soon.

This post contains major spoilers for Gege Akutami's "Jujutsu Kaisen" and its ongoing anime adaptation.
In a world where cursed spirits hover around unwitting humans and jujutsu sorcerers are compelled to exorcise them, sudden, brutal deaths have become a part of the bleak reality of "Jujutsu Kaisen." Mangaka Gege Akutami might have kickstarted the narrative with a one-shot in 2017 — titled "Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Jujutsu High" — but positive reception of his work eventually birthed "Jujutsu Kaisen," his most popular and seminal work to date. The manga has finally come to a close, with its 271st chapter wrapping up this incredibly engaging, albeit traumatizing journey, in which silver linings are scarce, but deeply appreciated nonetheless.
Before we talk about the most brutal, impactful deaths in the series, please keep in mind that the term "best" simply denotes narrative junctures that are deeply compelling: while most deaths infuse "Jujutsu Kaisen" with its signature tragic overtones,...

Power-scaling has existed in anime since the birth of the medium. It's natural to want to pit characters from the same series against each other to see who emerges at the top, and these comparisons often extend beyond one story and eclipse genres. To discern which characters are the strongest can be a bit tricky, as strength comes in many forms: While some interpret it as pure physical prowess, others take magic abilities — both innate and learned — into consideration to rework the definition of "powerful." /Film's anime experts have banded together to create the ultimate ranking of the 25 strongest anime characters, keeping a wide range of factors in mind, including non-traditional interpretations of strength that go beyond combat-focused skills or the good old perks that come with immortality or omnipotence.

In the ever-evolving world of anime and manga, countless titles keep getting added to the monumental library that is well-adored by the Otaku community. As a result, when it was announced that Solo Leveling, the infectiously popular manhwa, would receive an anime adaptation, it was believed to be the next great thing.

Hence, everyone started talking about the title, which resulted in unreal hype, and everyone set the bar way too high. The result was nothing but sheer disappointment as it failed to meet the audience’s expectations, where it featured a simple, game-like plot. The majority of the show showcased Sung Jin-woo farming Xp as if it were a video game character.
However, it looks like another worthy title has come forth, which has showcased the potential to become a piece of art that should become the rightful heir of the Manhwa adaptations.

Spoiler Alert !!!The following article contains major spoilers from the Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia, and Jujutsu Kaisen manga. Read ahead at your own discretion!
Demon Slayer had the worst endings in all of shonen anime. Well, that’s a statement which might have changed now that My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen have ended. The series had quite the buildup for its leading villain, Muzan Kibutsuji, from the start, and fans thought he’d have an amazing backstory and powers to defend himself.

However, the final fight of Demon Slayer‘s Infinity Castle arc was so predictable and linear that fans thought the author, Koyoharu Gotouge, rushed the ending and hence joined the Shonen manga ending curse. Muzan’s conclusion ultimately elevated villains such as Naruto‘s Kaguya and One Piece‘s Kaido to the level of supremely crafted characters.

In a significant move to combat the rising threat of unauthorized AI voice cloning, a coalition of popular Japanese voice actors has launched the “Nomore Unauthorized AI Generation” campaign on Oct 15, 2024.
This initiative aims to raise awareness about the exploitation of their voices, which are often replicated for commercial purposes without their knowledge or consent.
The campaign’s official X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, and TikTok accounts went live on Oct 15.
A video posted across the platforms expresses the group’s concerns, stating, “Readings, songs, and even our voices, which we did not record, have been published online and are sometimes being sold. Our voices are our business tools, our lives, and an important part of ourselves that we have grown up with. Even if it was done by a fan who wanted to hear more of our voices, it is not pleasant to use it without permission.“
