The main character of One Outs, Akagi, and Kaiji were voiced by the same person. The three anime have an intense psychological atmosphere and the main characters are intelligent.
Based on a Japanese baseball-themed manga series written and illustrated by Shinobu Kaitani. It was serialized in Shueisha's seinen manga magazine Business Jump from 1998 to 2006, followed by a short-term sequel, One Outs: Miwaku no All-Star-hen, from 2008 to 2009.
