When Katie starts (and later re- starts) the Pontiac LeMans convertible for her driving lesson, she reaches - twice - for a control left of the steering wheel. All Pontiacs of this era have the ignition switch positioned on the dashboard immediately to the right of the steering wheel.

THE NASTY, NASTY SCRATCH. WHODUNIT?

Another George Tibbles favorite, this one involving cars and a scratch. Ouch! This may have been inspired from an episode, a few years earlier, on the DICK VAN DYKE SHOW. Rob gets a new car and there's an ugly scratch! A fate worse than death.

This is fun, and rather original as both Chip and Katie are learning to drive. Naturally, Chip is the speed demon and Katie, the more cautious driver. But what they both have in common is that they are new to the road --and accidents can happen.

There are some classics scenes at play here, both Steve and Robbie lending advice, advice and advice. And I agree, it is sort of a Pontiac commercial, although Pontiac did sponsor the show. Yes, you have to love the sleek Le Mans convertible Katie hops in to. That was the definitive muscle car back in the day.

Then Steve's station wagon returns with a long scratch on it... So who is guilty? You will be pleasantly surprised. Look for all around character actor George N. Neise (as Roy Wells), popular in so many movies and tv shows. He was a regular on RED SKELTON and even acted with the THREE STOOGES, memorable as the villain.
