There are many quotes and poems read by the cast over the series. Many of them are taken from writers and works of William Shakespeare, Victor Hugo, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Khalil Jibran, Alexandre Dumas and Karl Marx etc.
2 of the antagonists names, Ali and Cengiz, were taken from a Turkish idiom "Ali Cengiz oyunu yapmak" which means to deceive cunningly. This is also the main plot of the series.
