Exclusive: Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi (Entergalactic) will star in and produce the new animated feature Slime which will serve as animator Jeron Braxton’s (Baby Demon) feature directorial debut. Brian Ash (The Boondocks) penned the script and will executive produce.

The project hails from Mescudi’s production banner Mad Solar alongside Hammerstone Studios and Capstone Global.

Slime is described as a classic monster movie decked out in fashion-forward video game skins that are wickedly satirical, scary as hell and trippy Af. In a not-too-distant, but all-too-dystopian future, Muna, an optimistic, but broke young woman, signs up for a paid medical trial. Hope turns to horror when she is unknowingly injected with a foreign creature’s slime and begins to have visions she does not understand and unleash destructive powers she cannot control.

Hunted and desperate, Muna kidnaps Glenn (Mescudi), a lab worker from the mega-corporation who injected her. Together, they...

“Rick and Morty” are ready to rock audiences with the “Rick and Morty” Musical Ricksperience at the Adult Swim Festival Oct. 5-7. The fest will be held at the Row Dtla Los Angeles.

Going live with a 37-piece orchestra, composer for the series Ryan Elder and some special surprise guests will bring “Rick and Morty” songs to life in harmony in sync with an episode during the concert on the closing night of the festival.

Headliners for the inaugural Adult Swim Festival include Run the Jewels and Mastodon. L.A.’s Brainfeeder, Flying Lotus’ independent record label, will rule the day on Saturday with special performances from Dorian Concept, Flying Lotus (in 3-D), Georgia Anne Muldrow, Hannibal Buress, and Thundercat.

T-Pain will perform tracks from “Freaknik: The Musical” during the festival’s preview night on Friday.

Back in October it was announced that a Black Dynamite animated series was going in to production and would further chronicle the exploits of Black Dynamite and his crew, then in April Adult Swim officially announced they had picked up the series. And now comes the first trailer, courtesy of Twitch:

I know most of you read that headline and immediately went out to burn down an orphanage, just out of spite (No! Not the orphans!). After all, Adult Swim is the home to "Family Guy" reruns and "Squidbillies," among other bullshit, but bear with me.

Neo-classic blaxploitation spoof Black Dynamite exploded across the internets and into cinemas not so long ago, and many people have since called for a sequel… Well their wishes have been granted (sort of) with a brand new animated series based on the movie.

Adult Swim, home to the weird, off-kilter and downright funny are producing the animated show, and best of all – most of the Black Dynamite cast are returning to voice their characters! Says producer Jillian Apfelbaum:

T-Pain says his next album, Revolver, will be coming out later this year, but his first major project of 2010 is a TV show. Pain is starring in and producing a one-hour animated special for Cartoon Network's Adult Swim this weekend called "Freaknik: The Musical."

Freaknik was an annual party in Atlanta that started in the 1980s but blew up in the mid-'90s. During spring break, students from the area's historically black colleges and the hip-hop community used to gather for a weekend of partying, a picnic and, in many cases, debauchery. The event took over the city and was protested heavily, and the final one was in 1999.

T-Pain has a cartoon on the way called "Freaknik: The Musical," but it's probably not for kids. The show, airing March 7 on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, will be an hour-long extravaganza detailing a group's quest to "successfully resurrect the spirit of Freaknik ... the biggest spring-break party known to man."

On Wednesday morning (February 24), T-Pain tweeted a trailer including castmembers like Rick Ross and Snoop Dogg discussing the show and remembering their experiences at the original Freaknik.

With his penchant for top hats, we suppose this was inevitable: T-Pain is getting his own animated special.

On March 7, Cartoon Network's Adult Swim will premiere "Freaknik: The Musical," an hour-long extravaganza detailing a group of kids' quest to "successfully resurrect the spirit of Freaknik ... the biggest spring-break party known to man."

According to a Cartoon Network press release, T-Pain — who is also listed as an executive producer on the show — will voice "a party ghost" (no word on whether he'll use Auto-Tune). Other musicians lending their voices to "Freaknik" include Lil Wayne, Big Boi, Rick Ross, Kelis, Snoop Dogg, George Clinton and Bootsy Collins. Comedians Andy Samberg and Bill Hader also appear.
