Jerry Powell is based off a character Joey Halter would slip into on a daily basis. While living at a commune with Halter, writer/director Mike Cuenca would engage Halter into participating in conversations as Jerry Powell. Much of it Cuenca would work into the screenplay he wrote for Halter to star in.
Took 31 days to shoot with a few hours of additional pick-ups on a budget of less than $1000.
The name "Jerry" was provided by Joey Halter while Mike Cuenca borrowed the surname "Powell" from director Michael Powell.
