Going to be honest, I haven't laughed once while watching the whole series, but it entertained me regardless. The whole concept of a post-apocalyptic society of food trying to survive was intiguing, and I liked watching some of them turn exactly in what they despise, but I'm not going to make spoilers. That is what kept me watching, my curiosity to see in what direction this foodtopia would go, and I was not disappointed, especially with the ending, can't wait for a second season. One thing I did not like and wish they made less of were the sex scenes. I really hope that there are no people turned on by those, but I know humanity. DO NOT EAT WHILE WATCHING, I was having lunch while watching episode 6 and I was left speechless, no wonder Prime Video had to put the warning.
Would I reccomend the series? Only if you have seen the movie, or if you like post apocalypse content and can stand some of the jokes/food sex scenes.

Sausage Party was a rather controversial flick both in terms of content and in terms of production, and while I hope with all my heart production for this series was easier on the animators and staff, the content at least is better.
Sausage Party's ending left several questions answerred. Once food rebelled, how would their society progress? How long do foods in need of refrigeration last? What about wild animals?
All of these questions were answerred, in a quite brutal social commentary on class divide and the need to put the needs of others before the individual and the failure of individuals to do so.
If you dislike gross out humor, maybe this is not for you. But otherwise a solid recommendation.

Tbh when i first saw the tv show i felt like something is missing compared to the movie, the graphic is just not good like at all, unpolished, really bad, waxy, and rough... even toy story 1 (which made on 95)... the story is still quiet funny, interesting, and easy to watch
The plot is easy to understand, not too jumpy, but it can be better i think... the movie focus divided more on main character development and the community.. this series focus more on the food community as a whole... which i didnt get connected to the main character at all
I dont have any problem with the story, but the graphic just gave me the ick.. its like they have no support to polish the graphic more.. i know its a tv show not movies.. but you could do better amazon.

I started watching because I don't mind Seth Rogan type of humour, but geez, this is so unfunny. I kept watching to see if it would get any better, because I didn't mind the movie, but it didn't. It's like it tried too hard to be gross and out there, when the story behind it actually could have been quite funny. If you value your time then don't even bother. If you're high and have nothing else going on, you may find it somewhat enjoyable... maybe.
So sad for the huge stars who put their name behind this because I'm sure they're embarrassed by the outcome. I've given 2 stars mainly because of the quality of the animation. That is all. The rest can go in the bin.

I have yet to see the entirety of the season but the first four episodes have been a hilarious allegory of our own human evolution. Mix in (sorry flour) a dash of food puns, pop culture and gratuitous food fights and I'm hooked.
It's a great approachable critique of our past and present so far. You have the foods released in to an unknown world fending for themselves. Found the divide between oligarchy vs monarchy a bit more quickly in the show but these guys do have an expiration date after all.
Wonder what the future holds. The show may have an expiration date but I'm happy to get the sustenance while it's here. Just relax for a while, yall.

Not much reason too exist but it does and it's still not half bad, tons of parody songs which tend to be pretty enjoyable, maybe tends too lean too much into not so subtle political motivations as if the left isn't swimming in hypocritical billionaires, honestly it stops being very funny at all and just leans into politics, starts taking itself way too seriously, not that it's awful but it becomes, dare I say, generic, living food doesn't take away it's very simplistic and obsessive message with politics, its not about comedy anymore, not about food or random threats or anything of genuine interest at that point.

Gave it a go after seeing it had a high rating of 7/10, but was cautious as there weren't any reviews yet. It's not good, the sausage party film was passable as I was a huge fan of most of the cast and it was somewhat original but by the mid point of that one I grew tired of the amount of crude humour and was relieved when it was over so I could do or watch something else, this new series suffers from the same issue, it is like being tickled, after the first ten seconds you are done with it. There are moments of heart in the series and some thought obviously did go into the story but keeping engaged with it was from start to finish wad an uphill battle where I had to do the heavy lifting.

Wasn't really sure if this show is worth watching, but all the original cast styed + it's Rogan's, so why the hell not? It is almost a decade since the movie went out and hell, we need the escapism right now so it was the right choice to choose this show and going without knowing what could happen next.
You know that the food orgy will not arrive to late, so it came on soon and the two first episodes were a little bit forced, but once the looney rail got set up, the rest was pretty easy to take in and get connected because, you know, its all about us, humans, and how we mess all up.
The writing is still pretty sick and the jokes are very extreme, as you expect from Rogan and his team, but it is not the heart of the plot - it is to showcase all of us, viewers, how evolving society can't outrun the effects like greed, will for power, ruling and other human nature Characteristics can easily break something that came from purity.
The whole crew comes back to something that feels like a longer movie, that was divided into eight chapters, to get a different stage. You can totally watch it as a movie in a really quick super binge and not get the reason for the separation of something that cannot justify its actual length, from many reasons.
The profundity is still there and it rises above the occasional F words. The main purpose, so it seems, is to remind us that we are talking about Rogan's content and it need to be shocking, but after last scene of the movie, nothing in this feature can surprise any of Rogan's devoted followers.
This series is like a snack that try to be deep and talk about human nature, politics and principles like currency and laws, but the actual depth is no where to be found except the general ideas of this show. Still one of the funniest and outrages contents that are to be seen in TV.

It's as if a classroom of children got together and wrote an incredibly vile and sick story about food coming alive and existing like a bunch of lingering idiots. I happened upon this as a new addition to the Prime series and thought it may actually be mildly entertaining. What I can't understand is why on earth Prime would actually pay money for such a moronic series. I sat here with my wife begging her to sit for at least 5 minutes and give this a fair chance to entertain us. I refuse to believe there is a board of directors that work on behalf of Prime that feel this series is worthy of investing in. In conclusion...it's awful.

For those who have seen the original film, they should roughly know about what to expect, however this mini series is a lot more graphic, less subtle and far more over the top and explicit in comparison to the film. The writing is very clever with all the puns and jokes about the food characters. There are an assortment of different foods and the designs on them look really well done and are very detailed.
The main cast as we know are two hotdogs, a hotdog bun, a bagel and an orange. The series is about steady all the way through but perhaps gets better around episode 5 until the last episode (episode 8). There is a very graphic explicit over the top scene in ep6 which is mentioned with a warning censor before the episode starts. Overall Foodtopia is a satire mini tv series and best to enjoy not taken too serious.

I figured I'd give this a shot because it's a cartoon and they're short episodes but I couldn't even get thru 2 before turning it off. I didn't like the movie so I'm not surprised that I hate the show. The puns are way too down your throat and something about watching food constantly having sex with each other is just wrong. Sorry if that makes me sound like a prude but it's just not even funny. This show sucks. I really like Seth Rogan and Kristen Wig and Will Forte is wonderful in everything he is in. BUT this has got to be one of the stupidest things I've ever seen. Don't waste your time. It blows.

Never seen the movie, ran into this by chance. I was put off at first due to the silly childish animation, but I quickly realized that this is a serious work of art...in a sense that this cartoon covers very serious topics, and clearly Amazon just gave an okey for the script writer and director to do whatever they wanted.
The series covers the serious topic of humanism, sexual hangups, capitalism, socialism, communism, and democracy. And all done relatable to the contemporary issues we as Westerners face in our lives.
One of the redeeming qualities of this series with it's obvious flaws, is that there is enough humor and the grotesque to make up for the depressing issues in our society.
Lastly, I was very surprised that Amazon allowed this series, for Seth clearly attacked for what Amazon stands for and it's infamous CEO.
Enjoy!

If you want to relive the glory days of raunch and retired humor this is the movie to watch.
Somehow Seth Rogen's typecast raunchy humor is trying to stay relevant in this day, when his own generation is set to turn 50 yrs old.
This tv show isnt even close to being entertaining. Its rife with scripted one liners that have been recycled from the 1950s and from Seth's pitiful movie catalog.
It is void of anything that can be redeemable. Raunchy movies penned by men whose relevance died 8 years ago is an outdated fad and not worth the price of a streaming service.
It feels plagerized off of Ted more than anything and personally my ADHD wont let me watch this series in full. That is how boring sausage party is. Just animated one liners.

So we can all pretty much agree that the movie not awful but it is also stupid and too long right. Good.
Well the show is freaking hilarious. Whoever wrote this is very very good at their jobs. The correlation between the food society and human society is just too perfect. Everything is set up for the funniest moment possible. Including the human-thing. Which I gotta admit was one of the funniest things ever, even with how dumb it was.
I love this show. I thought I would hate it, but I love it!. I really hope it gets a season 2 and I really hope the food becomes self aware about how silly the rules are. Just like the human in the show. The rules of what is alive and what is not is just very funny to me. And IF frank ever realized that he is a piece of a different animal, yet somehow alive. It would blow his mind.

I already made my peace with the degeneracy from sausage party (for reference my roomie in 1st year at university hoodwinked me into watchingthe movie) but i didn't expect them to make a series 8yrs later, like whyyyyy?
Whoever thought up this idea should return from whence thou camst.
Since my review has to be 600 words might as well utilise it. Is this serie good adult content? Yes. Is this serie for kids? Hell no, keep them far away. Was the movie good? A little, the degeneracy was fun back then. Was the series necessary? Also hell no. Like we didn't need this in 2024.... we sooooo did not need this.

The humor still there, not doing too much. The animation is the same!! It deserves way more stars!!!! You won't be disappointed, NO CHILD/KID should watch this!!! I like everything so far... I'm afraid though they won't be able to make another season. I like closure. It should've been another movie tbh not a series. Unless they they will be making it into a 4 season. I hope this adaptation will be successful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( P. S Please don't be tooo strict if you not a fan of the lgbtq community, don't discriminate, don't ruin the reviews just because you not into it , it was still funny rather you admit it or not,)

I loved the movie, but this series didn't quite convince me. It maintains the sharp and vulgar humor, but I think the transition from film to series wasn't fully successful.
Series of this style usually work better with loosely connected episodes and new stories that are resolved in a maximum of two episodes. Here, they tried to tell a story throughout the whole season, and the humor got a bit lost.
However, I don't think it's bad. It entertained me while I watched it, and if a new season comes out, I would continue watching it.
The best thing about the series is that it maintains that humor that offends sensitive people, and in this era, it's hard for a show of that style to survive without being canceled.

Dude looks at his entire body of work, picks the WORST movie he's made (out of PLENTY of contenders...), and says "You know what...I'm gonna double down on this piece of .....!"
The fact that he was able to convince such a star studded cast of B-listers to throw in with him on this train wreck, is a monumental feat in and of itself!
I do have to admit that there were a few moments that made me laugh, between crude and at times unwatchably raunchy scenarios...
Ultimately it's the talent of the voice actors themselves that keeps this from being a complete and utter "shmashorshin"("Knocked Up" reference), and honestly, still better than most of what comes out these days (have you seen smiling friends??) I guess Seth and the like will keep sharting these ridiculous shows out, and we will (God knows why?) keep watching...

Sausage Party: Foodtopia is the sequel to the irreverent 2016 adult animation, which introduced us to a bizarre and fun concept where food comes to life, like a twisted version of Toy Story. Now, in series format, it delivers an interesting social critique while keeping the crazy, no-limits, adult humor. However, despite being clever at times, it doesn't always hit the mark.
Most episodes end with smart narrative hooks, but even so, I never felt much excitement to immediately watch the next one. The story sometimes drags, and the jokes follow a repetitive formula, as if the creators had endlessly recycled what worked in the original film. In my opinion, the concept would have worked better as a movie, avoiding the exhaustion caused by repetition.
The social critique is definitely one of the series' strong points. The way it humorously and intelligently addresses topics like the economic system, class struggle, and politics is surprising. Even though it might not appeal to all viewers, I found this approach bold and smart, raising the level of the story.
On the other hand, the humor remains absolutely obscene, with a flood of sexual jokes, graphic violence, gross-out moments, and many other bizarre scenes. I admit I liked some parts, but others went too far and made me uncomfortable, like the scene where a human is forced to eat a dead friend's foot, which seemed sick and unnecessary.
In summary, Sausage Party: Foodtopia would have been more effective as a 90-minute movie. At times, it tries too hard to shock with absurdity, and that ends up hurting the experience. It's a case where less could have been more.

It was entertaining, but it was not needed to be eight episodes maybe should've just made it a movie or just Less episodes but it basically could've been a lot more launcher a lot more food related puns a lot more pop culture, but it was OK. I had high hopes. Yes I did finish the episodes, but I could've gone without watching all of them to get the basic just even the ending wasn't even a proper ending unless it's a cliffhanger and they're gonna come out with another season even though I feel that would be too presumptuous of them, but like I said, they should've just made a movie instead of prolonging the show I gave a five and it was generous technically I would've done a 4 1/2 I was entertained but not as entertained as a gladiator would've been to see if you get the reference good good for you.
