The man who was going to break all ISI protocol and security and attend his own son's wedding. India's external intelligence agency R.A.W. has assembled a mission force dispatched to Pakistan, comprised of reconnaissance veteran Wali Khan, spec-ops commando Rudra Singh, explosives expert Zoya Rehman and small time criminal Aslam who is working in return for clemency from the law. The team's objective is to capture India's Public Enemy Number One, terrorist Iqbal Seth, codenamed Goldman. Assembling all hardware and information, the team zeroes onto Seth's location at his son's wedding, with security cover for the wedding provided by Pakistan's ISI and Army. It is for this reason the team must make it's moves swiftly, carefully and successfully at all costs as failure would render them expendable to the Indian Government and Seth would continue his deadly activities which in his language are "business as usual".—ankit-singh92

Secret Agent Wali Khan (Irrfan Khan), appointed by the Chief of Indian Research and Analysis Wing, Ashwini Rao (Nassar), was on a mission from nine years to keep an eye out for the activities of India's most wanted D-Company syndicate leader, Iqbal Seth AKA Goldman (Rishi Kapoor) in Karachi.

The film shows the mundane life on an agent while he carries on the regular life facade in an alien land, making real ties with people (wife, kids), but fully knowing that in an instant this can be gone on account of the next mission. Wali lives as a barber & gets close to one of Iqbal's aides (Khurram) who comes to his shop. Through him Wali learns that Iqbal is planning his nephews wedding at the Baituz Zahab Hotel & is personally going to attend.

On the other hand, ex-Indian Army officer and Mercenary, Captain Rudra Pratap Singh (Arjun Rampal), R.A.W.'s explosives expert, Zoya Rehman (Huma Qureshi), and Aslam (Aakash Daahiya), a Mumbai thief were recruited by R.A.W., nine days before, to infiltrate Pakistan and support Wali Khan, in the mission to apprehend Goldman, who is about to break Inter-Services Intelligence protocol and attend his own son's wedding.

Intelligence officers listening in on the Goldman's conversation report it to the Research and Analysis Wing director Ashwini Rao (Nassar), who in turn gets the implicit approval of the PMO for a covert operation on enemy soil. The wedding is being organized at Karachi's Baituz Zahab hotel, with the full participation of ISI officers and a Pakistani general (K.K. Raina) and who feels that Iqbal (Rishi Kapoor) will be targeted and should avoid attending the wedding. But Iqbal is adamant, and his nephew approves.

The team checks into the hotel. Wali plans to send his family away to the UK & promises to join them in a few days. Zoya as a UK based council woman, Aslam as driver of the ISI colonel, in charge of security at the hotel. Rana checks into the red-light district of Karachi & hides in the room of a prostitute (Shruti Hasan).

Shopping for weapons, Wali is recognized by Khurram. Wali & Rana attack Khurram, who almost escapes but is accidentally mowed down by a bus in front of a Karachi Police station. On the day of the wedding, Wali's wife & kid board a plane to UK, but the Iceland volcano grounds all planes. Wali sells his barber shop & sets fire to the house with 3 corpses in it (for himself, wife & kids). When Wali's wife hears this through relative at airport, who raises an alarm & the ISI picks her up. They find evidence that Wali is associated with an impending attack on Baituz Zahab hotel & Iqbal.

The plan goes ahead & the team attacks the hotel with a carefully laid plan to subvert security & to get access to Iqbal in the parking lot. They capture Iqbal but gets embroiled in a gun fight with his & ISI security team. Wali is shot in the shoulder but survives. The firing becomes too heavy & the team has to bail, leaving Iqbal behind.

Iqbal orders a clampdown on Karachi to capture the 4 agents. The Indian PM asks for Ashwani's resignation & asks his deputy to hunt down the 4 agents so that they are not captured alive in Pakistan. The attack takes place in a crowded market in Pakistan, but the agents sense the attack coming & escape. Aslam panics & tries to escape to India via Karachi port but is captured by Iqbal's men. Rudra attacks the convoy in which Aslam is being carried & rescues him. Cornered & abandoned, the 4 decide to complete their mission & capture Iqbal dead or alive. The next wedding function is the Nikah at Iqbal's house. But when the 4 arrive in their cars for the suicide mission (they plan to blow up the house), they see Iqbal being taken by the ISI to their safe-house. They abandon their attempt.

ISI has decided to kill Iqbal as he has become a liability to Pakistan & the safe-house is where they will make this happen. The ISI convoy stops at a secluded spot where the ISI general prepares to shoot Iqbal, but Rudra attacks with his 3 fellow agents & kills all the ISI agents. Wali, Rudra and Zoya finally capture Goldman after their last attempt. Upon capture Iqbal tries to buy his escape by promising Wali that he would release his wife & kid. Wali hesitates & accidentally shoots Rudra when he tries to persuade Wali otherwise.

Wali ensures to buy them some time and to distract the Pakistan army. He pretends to cooperate with Iqbal & arranges for his exchange with his family near their exit point from Pakistan. But in reality, he stuffs Iqbal into the boot of Rudra & Zoya's car & goes to meet the ISI alone. Rudra and Zoya follow Ashwani's orders to meet him at the border checkpoint. Now with the Pakistan army hot on their trail, they cross over to India where Ashwini is waiting for them. The movie ends on a surprise note after this when Rudra brings the story to a close by shooting Goldman in the head and indicates that he is the face of the "new India".
